They say the cluttered desk is the sign of the cluttered mind. JKR's desk is certainly cluttered. Discuss it here.

There is a paper labeled ‘Contents’, with the chapters from 'Harry Potter and the Philosohper's Stone'

A disquette with the date: 11/6/03 (It can be the date when the page was created, but only maybe)

Near 'Contents' there is a familiar tree, unable to read.

In the sinister of 'Contents? you can read: 'I had been writing continuously since the age of six but I had never been so excited before. To my frustration'

IN the right part there is a draw, some people said that there is the bird-egg what appears in the Department of Misteries.

The cellular rings sometimes and JK says: 'Hello'

The butterfly is of different colour in the day and in the night.

You can turn on or off the light near the cellullar.

I have more hints but I put they another time  ;)

I actually love her very cluttered desk.  I like write myself and my desk looks a lot like that.   Coffee cup included.

It's actually a doxie, and it is there because it is magical!  :)

If her mind is cluttered, then she has an amazing ability to organize ideas despite of it. Her books are so rich in detail and yet so coherent at the same time. A perfect balance.

In fact, I work in the same way. I find things much more easily on my cluttered desk. Once I clean it (which happens occasionally), I panic and spend twice as much time trying to find what I'm looking for.

The butterfly and fly seem to be clues as to some of the things you can discover on the site. They tend to land near places that are "hot sopts" that may not be as obvious as some of the others.

Actually, the Doxy and the butterfly are two different things. The Doxy appears when Peeves knocks over the pens and the watch goes haywire. The butterfly just wanders around, blue in the day, brown at night. The landscape outside the Room of Requirement also changes at night; it is dark, with little lights on it.

I don't believe you can catch the butterfly, the Doxy or the fly. Not in my experience, anyway, which means, well, that I can't do it. If someone has caught them, I'd love to hear it!
