Beta Readers A beta reader is someone that reviews your essay before you submit it. These people usually love to read and write, and are good at grammar and proofing. They can be invaluable in the writing process.
Co-writers and other collaborators We accept essays with multiple authors, as long as all authors agree to submit the piece to us. You may use this board to find a collaborator if you wish.
How this thread works Your post will most likely resemble an ad; if you say 'Beta reader wanted,' and give a short description of what your essay (topic/length, maybe a description), you will probably get good results. Or, equally, you can say, "co-writer wanted," and explain what you are looking for. It's also OK to offer your services as a beta reader.
Once you have found someone you want to collaborate with, please take the conversation to private chat, such as PM, e-mail, chat, AIM or other IM services, etc.; discussion of works in progress is not yet allowed on this forum. Also remember that Scribbulus staff may not be held responsible for the quality of or success you experience.

Co-writer wanted. Hi, I'm wanting to write the essays 'Harry Potter as Literature', and 'JKR and Harry Potter - Beyond the novels'. I'm a busy person, and so don't have much time to trawl through all the books. I'm really want to do this and I'm finding it hard to get started. Any help and advice would be warmly welcome and much appreciated. Thanks.
Offering Services as a Beta Reader. I love to read, especially anything HP related and I have a great interest in understanding the world. I would like to improve my editing skills and hope to offer my services. Thanks.
Please PM me if you are interested.
Edited to add:
I've written an essay and I'd just like someone to help me look over it and improve it a bit. I'm really stuck and can't think of anything to do. I'm completely new to this and I don't really know the score.
Thanks.

Although the above post looks like it was all written way back in June, blue_dreamer has actually just asked for help in looking at the essay. If anyone is willing to be a beta reader, please contact her to make arrangements. Thanks!

After listening to PotterCast #54, Cannon Conundrums, I'm writing an essay:
The Relationship Between a Wand and His Wizard Harry Potter's Ingegrity and Power
Beta Reader Needed!
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. If you have time, in the next few weeks, to read my WIP (work in progress) and offer any thoughts or editing, I would love to email you an attachment.
Large scale feedback on ideas, organization, clarity. As well as finer details like: grammer, apostrophes, spelling, etc.
I enjoy writing, but am a bit rusty, as it's been 9 years since I've taken a college class. Many of my extended family members have read Harry Potter, but they don't think about it deeply, and work too much. I'm a SAHM.
I'm hoping to submit by Halloween. It's about 7 pages right now.
I'm willing to beta read your essay in return.
Thanks,
-SideAlong
