I want it to be fun, and I want to dress up, but I want it to be a party amongst several adult Potter Fans (no non-fans in attendance)

Movies, Literary Discussion, theme-food, costumes, etc. are planned, but any other ideas?

This is just a thought, but you could always pla harry potter pictionary which in my opinion is fun for all ages.

But then again I'm 15 and don't know much about adults. (my mum acts younger then the computer I'm typing this up in)

if its a smallish, low key party, maybe some HP Scene It?

if it's more "adult" than that, well...I'll do my part to keep this a "family appropriate" post! wizard.gif

What a great idea! Trivia is always a good option, particularly with adults. Also, a discussion between guests about their favorite book from the series / character / villain / movie / etc. and most of all WHY? could be interesting. You can easily put this in a game by making cards with questions like those on them and then each guest has to pick one and that can create an interesting discussion.

Hope this helps and please let us know how the party went!

Richard

Have a measuring of the wands at the door !

Drink beer but, tape Butter on them.

In the invitation, let them know where to get HP merch.

etc...

And don't forget to check the new Harry Potter Crafts section... There's a full potter parties section there, with loads of suggestions for decorations, activities and much much more smile.gif

I like this one!

Once you've had your "potions" everyone go outside and play Quidditch in the yard for a few minutes for some good laughs.... LOL

Also if you are serving dinner or a buffet, set up the table using gold plates (you can get them cheap at dollar stores or the like). Floating candles would rock but prove dangerous I'm sure! Would be cool to figure out how to rig them up safely.

Play a tape of Moaning Myrtle in the bathroom!

Invitations have to be on parchment and rolled up like a scroll! You can find parchment at lots of different craft or paper stores. Not hard to get a hold of!

You could go really far on this and well I can't wait to do this myself!
