As the Leaky Gallery continues to grow with many, many more exciting things to come, so does the staff  .
In this forum you will soon find polls and discussions which will be set up and managed by our new Gallery Mods, ErinRae, ~Mrs.Brisby~, Amoscotia and weirdsis. We will do our upmost to make this forum fun and interesting with lots of new activities to come.
Please continue to use the help thread for any technical issues or queries you have with the actual Gallery itself and the staff will use this thread for updates on new images.
As everyone is constantly advised around here at Leaky, stay tuned. We promise it will be worth it!

It's finally up and running, Leaky's brand new Gallery.
This is the news article Melissa posted on the main news page:-

It's finally up for all to enjoy, and we'll have more features and improvements unveiled in the near future as we strive to keep it your favorite Potter image resource. So, go and enjoy the more than 45,000 pics that currently reside there, with more ease than ever. 
We all think it looks absolutely fantastic and huge  for the tekkies who have been working so hard on it.
A quick run down on the features for you:-
- Home
- Album List (main menu of the the categories of images - we currently have albums for Harry Potter Actors, J K Rowling, Books, Movies, Products, Fans, The Leaky Cauldron, Harry Potter Crafts)
- Last Uploads (most recent additions to the Gallery)
- Most Viewed (self explanatory - our most popular images)
- Top Rated (each image can be voted on, between one and five stars. At the moment, Evanna Lynch is the top rated image)
- Search (we know you really wanted this facility . The Gallery keyworders are continuing to work very hard at giving each image keywords to enable you to search for images, without having to check through 3000 in a gallery)
- Sources (acknowledgment to those sites that allow Leaky to use their pictures)
Other really nifty little features:-
- when you click on a thumbnail to view the enlarged image, you can now go back to the main thumbnail gallery you were in, and not page one  .
- slideshow - my favourite new little feature. Instead of clicking on the next button, let the Gallery do the hard work for you!! Click on slideshow and the images in a particular gallery will show one after the other.
- you can also view whatever page in a particular gallery you want, and not have to go through them in number order, so for example, if you know an image is located on page 6, you can go straight to page six without having to go through the first 5.
The Leaky Gallery currently has:-
QUOTE 45,330 files in 1,045 albums and 309 categories viewed 1,932,023 times
..and there is even more exciting features to come.

Update time!!
As of todays date we have a staggering 48,333 images in the new Leaky Gallery. These pictures are set in 1077 albums and 312 categories and have been viewed an equally staggering 2,450,592 times since May 5th 2006.
In this post I am going to highlight some changes to our Books category .
The category is split into the following sections:-
- Ads and Scans
- Chapter Art
- Events
- Covers
- Misc. Art
The chapter art is now completely up to date with artwork for all 6 books. Many thanks to those members who took the trouble to send in their copies of this in order to complete the directory. You made this Gallery Manager very happy !!
Our cover art section is now split into countries rather than publications and I would like your feedback on this. Do you prefer the cover art gallery like this so you can view one countries covers in one go, or do you prefer the old way of viewing all the artwork for say Philosophers Stone in one go? Let us know .

Did you know that you could now use the images in the Leaky Gallery to send an e-card?
Just click on any thumbnail image and look on the control panel for that image. You will see a little envelope icon. Click on that and fill in the details and a message - it's simple !
This is not an excuse for the Gallery staff to bombard my inbox with images of Professor Snape though  !!

We are almost at 50,000 images now in the Leaky Gallery?! Since May it has been viewed an awesome 4 and half million times, so thanks to everyone who continues to use it  .
There are now 8 categories of images:-
* Harry Potter Actors
* JK Rowling
* Books
* Movies
* Products
* Fans
* The Leaky Cauldron
* Harry Potter Crafts
The Gallery keyworders continue to tag each image to enable viewers to find an image as quickly as possible. Just go to the search option here and type in the image you want - so for example, if you want to look at Daniel Radcliffe's hair, just type in Daniel Radcliffe and away you go  !!!
I would also like to officially welcome Hagiographer13, Elizabeth18 and go_ginny to the team. Any queries, please ask and we'll be happy to help .

I can't believe we are into September already and so here is your monthly Gallery update .
We finally did it , we now have over 50,000 images in the Leaky Galleries?. The exact figure as of today's date is 50,332.
We have seen major updates to our book covers section, with hundreds of new covers being added. You can view them here. We continue to add your images from Lumos and Jo's reading in New York and of course images from the filming of the Order of the Phoenix film, which can be viewed here.
The next couple of months should prove very exciting as we will, hopefully, *keeps everything crossed*, start getting official WB released images from the film.
In the meantime, I have a request ! The Gallery team never sit on their laurels and we really want to continue to keep our Galleries the best place on the internet for Potter images. I want more book covers in our Gallery - back cover art to be precise. So please, get scanning and send them in to pics@the-leaky-cauldron.org
Finally, I want to say a huge personal thank you to our awesome keywording team. Many people are now noticing the benefit of the search facility and that is down to this team. It is a really important role and they are doing a fantastic job. So, many thanks to:-

Lots to update you all with this month in the Leaky Gallery.
This last week has seen a small army working together to add thousands of images to the Gallery . A huge shout out to DorisTLC, KimmyBlair, flipendo, the Gallery staff and several others who have scoured the wizarding world and have added over three and a half thousand images to several categories, including:-
Kenneth Brannagh
Richard Harris
Shirley Henderson
and many, many more of the actor albums.
We have also added more chapter artwork from books 4, 5 and 6, as well as more cover artwork.
The Movies category has been greatly increased with screencaps from premieres and interviews.
Of course, we could not go by without mentioning the fact that the brand new images from the OotP film have been added in hi-res here. Just a few numbers to crunch on , the new image of the Dursleys has been viewed 27,913 times, the wonderful image of Evanna Lynch as Luna has been viewed 26,581 times and the impressive DA picture has been viewed 24,288 times. Just click on the thumbnail and view them in all their glory!!
So, we now have 53,309 images in the Leaky Gallery. It's constantly improving as we aim to keep it the best image Gallery for Harry Potter anywhere on the internet.

A herculean effort has seen the total number of images in the Leaky Gallery reach 60,000 pictures.
Whilst we continue to add to every category we can, the biggest change this month is the creation of an Avatar album. Here you will find icons and avatars to upload and host yourselves covering everything from the HP films and actors to Jo herself. We would love to add your images in here to, so if you would like to share your creations, please send them to icons@the-leaky-cauldron.org. Alternatively, post them in the "avatars galore" thread here in this forum.
Many thanks to everyone as well who continues to add to our Alan Rickman Appreciation Thread  . It is quite staggering how many images there are of this man and I continue to wipe up the drool from the Galleries!! If you come across any more - send them in.
Finally, I would like to  Madsdagirl to the Gallery team. Mads is going to be doing a lot of updating in this forum with news about new images, so watch out for her posts!!
