To celebrate the Queen's birthday in June 2006, a special Harry Potter sketch was shown featuring Dan Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson and Matthew Lewis.
You can now view this in our Videos Gallery here.
Our fabulous foursome join in the hunt for the Queen's missing handbag, together with some pretty funny gags for Ron and Neville - and Matthew Lewis was right when he was interviewed recently on Pottercast, his hair is pretty awful !
Enjoy

Is it me, or did anyone else find the skit more canon than the movies? I loved the way Dan and Rupert conversed, like Harry and Ron would, with the whole "Voldermort with a handbag" bit (although, I guess Ron saying Voldy's name wasn't very canon). And Emma seemed much more bossy and knew what to do, etc. And it was just the way everything was set up. Seemed more...Potter-ey, than the movies have been. For me, atleast.
Now if the films were constructed like this, that would be fantastic. What do you think?
(I hope this is the right place to talk about the skit; couldn't find anywhere else to start a thread/reply )

The new Video Galleries are amazing aren't they?
If you are looking for information it looks like the entire skit was written by Julian Fellowes, a pretty well known writer and actor who wrote the brilliant Gosford Park.
I beleve if you listen to the recent pottercast with Matt Lewis he talks about the filming of the skit, and do take a look around the Video galleries for more Matt Lewis fun!

QUOTE(Lolarose @ Oct 18 2006, 06:40 PM) Wasn't it Jo herself? For some reason I think it was. Which would explain why its closer to cannon.
No, Lolarose It wasn't Jo but it was someone who seems to know his Potter!

I did a bit of research (well okay I googled the guy) and I found out that Julian Fellowes has written a lot both for television and movies- along with Gosford park he also wrote Vanity Fair- he wrote the whole of the Children's party at the palace (in which the skit was played) and he really does seem to have made it quite canon!
