So, you're getting ready to go to Hogwarts? Well done on making it into this prestigious school! Now may I ask what you are gonna write Professor Binns' essay on Giant war with? Hilroy lined paper? That's the surest way to get a detention!

I have a better plan for you. Make your own Parchment Paper! This is really easy to make, and it requires material you probably already have at home (coffee, computer paper, rectangulare pan, cooling rack (use oven racks if you don't have those), and newspaper. That's just to show that everyone can be a little crafty if they want to!

So here's the challenge. If you want to be ready for Hogwarts, you must create a sheet (or two, or three, or 200!) of parchment paper today or tomorrow, then come back here to post a picture, share tips, etc. You may also write a message for Leaky on your parchment if you wish. Why don't you try to do so in Invisible Ink? Kids, make sure Mom and Dad are around before you reveal the message.

All the pictures we receive will be posted in the Harry Potter Crafts galleries. And while you're at it, browse around the crafts section a bit. You may well find a few things in there that are dead easy to make and that will have you change your eternal "I'm not crafty" sayings wink.gif

GREAT! Just what I need!

I have to say that the invisible ink craft has already been of some use to me today! (Just cant say too much wink.gif ).

And that parchment will be uselful too! I dont have time to be running off to Diagon Alley each time I need to talk to the Order.

I highly recommend everyone else gets crafting too! Maybe even they'll be a special reward for those who get involved and post their pictures! smile.gif

Yours faithfully,

Harry

Oh, how nifty! I'm making some parchment now, and they're turning out great.

Prizes for pictures!? *takes out camera*

I can't wait to see those pictures!

Do you find it easy to make?

Don't forget to write a message with invisible ink on your parchment too... and of course reveal it before you take the picture (or take picture before, while revealing and after!)

Hey! I did it! I'll have my own parchment paper! Wish I'd known about this when making a school project of the Declaration of Independence! These will be used for Hogwarts, though!

I didn't mind the warning about care for one piece... it sort of wrinkled and tore...

But the others are all drying beautifully! Thanks for a truly easy craft!

I'd try brewing an extra extra hot tea if I were you. The shade might be a little paler, but it will still achieve the right effect. I wouldn't try pop... those bubbles might do things to your paper you wouldn't want!

You may want to try dabbing the teabags directly on your parchment once you get it out of the water. That could give it a colour that would be a little darker too.

Congratulations cloudpic!! Do you have any pictures?

Well, finished making parchment. Was pretty easy, although very messy smile.gif

And I took many pictures.

I used hangers to let them dry outside.

Twistied a q-tip to the quill. Seemed pretty effective.

Now I all I need is to get the invisible ink to show up...
