In honor of Mrs. Weasley's birthday bday.gif , the Gallery Girls thought it'd be nice to dedicate a thread to our beloved Mollywobbles! Mrs. Weasley is portrayed most excellently (if I may say so myself!) in the films by Julie Walters. We have over 500 images of Mrs. Walters in the Galleries (here) with images from various appearances, films, theater and television! And of course you'll find many images of Mrs. Weasley in our screen captures for Sorcerer's Stone, Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Azkaban.

From Chamber of Secrets, Chapter 3:
"Mrs. Weasley was marching across the yard, scattering chickens, and for a short, plump, kind-faced woman, it was remarkable how much she looked like a sabre-toothed tiger. "

Not only the mother of her own seven children, Molly is also the only loving mother figure for Harry.

From Order of the Phoenix, Chapter 5:
"[Harry's] not your son," said Sirius quietly.
"He's as good as," said Mrs. Weasley fiercely. "Who else has he got?"

How do you like Julie Walters as Mrs. Weasley in the films? Care to share your favorite Molly moment?

With this thread we'll not only be looking at images of Mrs. Weasley but also at other images of Julie Walters from the Galleries. So tell us what you think, and enjoy the view while your here!

bday.gif Molly!!

I love Mrs Weasley and I think Jule Walters looks perfect as her. The build, hair colour, even the rosiness in her cheeks is just like my version in my head. What I also love about her is her dedication to the books and how distraught she was at being left out of GoF. I would have loved to have seen an image of her hugging Harry in his hospital bed. I think sometimes it's images like that that say so much more than words.

I didn't know about her book dedication but that gives her a big tick in my books!

I love Julie's performance as Molly Weasley. She is a terrific actor and she fits the part perfectly. She is so much like the Molly in my head!

I would love to see Julie do the scene The Woes of Mrs. Weasley where she would have a more challenging role. I can't remember whether they cut that scene or not. I hope they didn't because it is real character development for Molly as well as a reminder of what is yet to come...

Fantastic work Gallery Girls- this is a great thread!

bday.gif Molly!

I also think Julie Walters is a very talented actor with a fantastic performance in all HP-movies.
I enjoy it all the time when Molly appears in one of the books or movies. She is just a perfect component of HP.

I love Julie Walters as Mrs. Weasley - she's absolutely amazing. It's the whole motherly smothering thing she's got going on that transfers perfectly. She's always wearing this mishmash of clothes - a giant sweater here, a skirt here, etc. It's *perfect*.

Happened to see this thread... I love Mrs Weasley in the books and on film! When PoA was on the other night, it was like being home again to see them all in the LC. Some have said she's not plump enough, but her face is friendly and motherly, and the clothes help create the same aesthetic effect as in the book (you can just see all of them being knit by those magic needles). Julie Walters is magnificent...I hope to see her in that scene in OotP, too!

Agree with everyone. Julie Walters as Mrs Weasley is one of the spot on characters for me. I think they have her look just right; kind, loving & homespun, but with a definite hint of sabre-toothed tiger! thumbup.gif

I love Julie Walters. I have to say that when I read the books, I don't picture the actors who play them. Except in this case. I began reading these books in 1999 so my ideas were firmly entrenched before the first movie came out in 2002. But when I say Julie Walters in the first movie I was amazed. She was Mollywobbles. She is just absolutely lovely.

I love love love Molly and I love love love Julie Walters's portrayal of her! She's just the right combination of forces, as others have said, and it's crystal clear that Molly's overwhelming trait is love. She's like a mother bear protecting her cubs, and she's not afraid to swat one with a paw when he gets out of line! Ms. Walters's eyes light up just like I imagine Molly's do...

She's wonderful!

I loooove Molly too!!! Julie Walters portrays her perfectly in the movies, she looks like her and definitely acts like her. I did first read the books around the same time I saw the movies so I wouldn't have pictures a different Molly, but I absolutely love both the movie and book Mrs. Weasley! She actually reminds me a lot of my grandma.
