Hi, whoever can help me with this... THANK YOU! For a couple of days now, I have been trying to put an avatar. I have a photobucket account, I am copying the URL link under my avatar, but... ITS NOT WORKING. I have tried: jpg, jpeg, gif, and png. conf.gif

Is there something that I'm doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

One possible problem is that the file name is too long. If the picture is in a sub-album, it can make the name so long that it cuts off at some point. The fix for this is easy, just move it to your main album and try again.

I am new and need some Avatar help. I read the FAQ page- and I am still not getting what is wrong... I just wanted to paste a URL for a avatar- but I can't seem to make it work. headdesk.gif

welcome.gif Cinnajava! Don't worry, the avatars always cause a headache for newcomers, I know it took me forever to figure out. You need to make an account at photobucket.com and put any pictures you want as your avatar onto your photobucket album. Then, there will be a URL available there. Simply use that. I hope this helps!

I seem to be having the same problem with my avatars. I have a photobucket account, with the picture in the main album. Every time I put in the URL it says the file extension isn't valid.


Disregard this post, apparently the first picture I tried just didn't work.

I must have tried to link to an online avatar at least six times now, but no matter what I try I always get "Sorry, that is not a valid file extension".Yet they've all been URLs which end with .jpg, whic is on the accepted list.

What am I doing wrong? Can someone tell me?

I found guidelines on how to add an avatar a while back (FAQs I think) but although I followed the steps, it didn't work.
