I was fortunate enough to attend Lumos in Las Vegas! It was an eye-opening experience . . . don't even get me started on talking with the fascinating Snapecast folks or (hem-hem) movie nights!
The absolute best was having our own TLC staffers totally destroy the Mugglenetters in HP trivia! Ahh. . . the pictures, the memories, the endless butterbeers . . .

I went to NYC last summer, and I was at both the LeakyMug and the reading - I saw Jo! *squee*
Even better than seeing Jo was seeing so many of my Leaky friends, of course... but Jo was pretty cool too! She read that supercool scene where Dumbledore goes to the orphanage and first meets Tom Riddle. OH, and do you remember her shoes!! She had the most fantastic shoes on!
Yeah... that was pretty awesome... and I wouldn't have been there if it wasn't for the Lounge!

Hmmm... Well my best memory was discovering PotterCast, it was just after April fools day last year, after discovering PotterCast I just sort of fell right into the fandom, reading the news everyday looking around the Lounge. When I finally joined up I was a bit of a lurker until the Reading Groups came around, so I have the lovely Chamber 007 to thank for bringing me out of my shell - thanks guys.
I also found this youtube video, which is like a recap of the fandom, in the form of a song, its called We Didn't Start the Fandom, and you can see it here. Edit: This has a couple of bad words in it so open at your own risk (but not that bad)

Wow, that's a great video, to the music of a great song! It makes me wish I had been in the fandom all along... my best memory of this year would probably be properly joining! My lounge birthday was a couple of weeks ago, and it was around this time last year that I really started getting into Leaky, and I've never regretted it! I've made some amazing friends and had amazing experiences... the highlight probably being seeing Jo read in NYC in August! Ahhh, it was indescribable! And I loved going to the live Leaky Mug that day as well... very, very cool. Overall, I've had an amazing year thanks to Leaky!
ETA: Thanks Sofie for reminding me about the event that really drew me in... FIDDY FIVE! Oh, the discussions, oh, the craziness. I also have to say the planning of John Noe: The Musical, while completely spammerific to look back on, was so fun because that's how I started to talk to and get to know the people who I later became such good friends with on SKYPE.

One of my favorite fandom moments was the release of HBP. I had a GREAT time at a Chapters store, waiting for midnight and the release. There were tons of activities, eg. Harry Potter Mad Libs, theory discussion, and fake butterbeer (apple juice and caramel sauce ) from Starbucks. I went home, though, befor the release, cause I ordered mine through the mail. Sad pandas...
But another favorite time was my introduction to te fandom. Back when Prisoner of Azkaban was the latest book, I had a friend who kept trying to pressure me into reading HP; I hated the idea of the series at the time, but after hours of him basically teaching me all about Quidditch and Fluffy and Sirius Black and Voldy, I gave in and bought CoS.
I was instantly hooked. I read the rest of the day and the next morning went to buy books 1 and three. Book four came out soon after and I devoured that. I found Leaky a while after, but never joined the Lounge until last year...Too bad.
Happy Birthday Leaky Lounge!
