Mae said her first word today! she said mama! I cant believe it, Brandons first word was dada, and the next one was car so i was way down the list (apparently dada is easier to say or something!) but yay! im so excited!
now to make this bit of news into an actual discussion thread: what was you childs first word (or words)?

I'm too young to have kids - but if I think mine was beer toast.gif

There are so many pictures of me as a baby - holding empty beer bottles filled with milk...

Helped the teething I guess! lol.gif

My first boy said "dada" my second said "mama" although this may be because i wouldn't let the sound dada be made infront of him, only mama... hehehe

Haha, my first word was 'hop' (I meant 'hot') because my dad was teaching me that stoves were hot... I never learned, I have a little burn mark biggrin.gif

This is a great thread!

My eldest sister's first word was "woof!" apparently she was very friendly with the family dog! Helen, the middle sister, came up with almost a full sentence: "All gone. More!"

Strangely I don't know what mine was, it can't have been nearly as amusing as either of theirs!

I can't remember what my first word was- I think it was something strange like flower???
But my daughter's first words were "this" and "that" Wherever we went she would point and say "this" or "that"? She wanted everything explained to her. Along with a name for everything.

Both of my boys said dada first if I remember correctly. But what really made my family giggle was the first sentence my older son said at about 12 or 13 months. He said, "The cow has a tail" or something to that effect. My dad thought it was so funny, he typed it out and framed it! lol.gif

Modly note.

Hi everybody. I'd like to take a moment to ask you guys to try to incorporate some discussion into this topic. I know it can be a fun one and people seem to like it. However, if it winds up just being a list of first words and one sentance posts, I'll be forced to close it.

Thanks,
Coach
