Tell us about the Books that you bought and something as to what you found interesting about them.

I happen to like going to Book Markets and old Bookstores - especially in Belgium, Europe or when I am in London. I tend to go for more Art/Graphic books and Architecture books when I can afford them.

I picked up MW by Osamu Tezuka. Vertical Publishing. Hardback. I have 31 books by him and I hope to find more since many now are being translated into english. I like the bold cover which reminds me of early Russian Avant Garde Graphics. Vertical prints impressive versions of the books, but you have to get the first editions to get the beautiful endpapers. I bought this more from reputation than knowing what the book was about.

Galaxy Express 999 by Leiji Matsumoto. Viz Comics. Vol. 1. I had a store locate 3 volumes for me from the U.S. I have seen 19 episodes of the Anime, and I also liked how Daft Punk had Leiji Matsumoto supervise the making of Interstella 5555 so I was influenced first by seeing a visual medium of the graphic form. I really like how he conveys a journey that one must go through life, and how are choices shape our personal character and ethics.

I bought Terry Pratchett's 'Making Money' when it came out recently.

I'd been looking forward to it coming out since I finished Deathly Hallows (though with a little less excitement) and it was a great read.

He always has a twisty plot that manages to surprise and yet always makes you laugh with his weird way of looking at everday objects or ideas.

I know it hasn't come out in the US yet so I wont spoil the story, but I will recommend it to all!

I recently bought several James Michener books at a used paperback store - Alaska, Tales of the South Pacific and The Source. My boyfriend was there with me and bought a book on beekeeping, which I might read also.

A friend sent me an iTunes gift card recently and with that I bought The Devil and Miss Prym by Paulo Coelho which is a great book and was read well too.

At Borders last week I bought The View from the Studio Door which is sort of a self-help book for artists. I bought it because I have an idea for something I want to do, but am totally unfamiliar with the medium I want to do it in, and because I read the first chapter while in the store and thought it sounded good. Haven't read the rest of it yet though.

I went to B&N yesterday and I have a $25 gift card so I bought:
  • Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll
  • The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum
  • I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I Would Have To Kill You by Ally Carter

The first two are classics and the third one caught my eye.

I went to a local bookstore the other day and ended up buying Uglies and Pretties. I've heard a lot of people say that they were really good and decided to give them a try. I haven't started them yet because I'm currently rereading HP so I'll have to wait until I finish those.

Just today I went out and bought two books at Barnes & Noble. I love going shopping for books...seriously, you put me in a Barnes & Noble at 9 in the morning and I can be there until 11 at night when they close lol.gif

Anyway, I bought Under the Tuscan Sun by Frances Mayes. I fell in love with the movie and I love Italy, so....

I also bought Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen. I love her writing and my friend told me it was a good book biggrin.gif

I really really wanted to buy it before but unfortunately I don't have the money yet lol.gif so I was really happy when my mom bought it for me and gave it as a gift! smile.gif Oh and I also bought Anne of Green Gables a couple of weeks ago smile.gif
