I've been reading The Book Thief all morning. It's very addicting biggrin.gif

Oh that book is excellent!

I bought that at Borders on Friday. I can't wait to start it.

I am finishing Pride and Prejudice. I have about 150 pages to go. I just haven't been in the mood to read lately.

Yeah i want to read Pride and Prejudice also. Is it a good read?

I'm reading P&P right now. I love it! I read it one other time--right after I saw the BBC/A&E 5 hour production. heart.gif You almost don't have to read the book when you watch that. There's not much that's not covered, and they do a phenomenal with it. I find the reading less stilted than Sense & Sensibility, which I also love.

Right now I am reading Walden and Civil Disobedience by Henry David Thoreau. I really like the essay, actually I think they're both essays but I really enjoyed Civil Disobedience and especially in these turbulent times in the United States, it gives a good perspective on government power and the relation of the individual citizen to its government. You could learn a lot from a book by a guy who influenced Martin Luther King Jr. and Mahatma Gandhi.

Seven of Nine, can you put a link in the old thread to the new one? (...I hate trying to find these on my own.)

I think Pride and Prejudice is one of a few books I have re-read as often as Harry Potter. I absolutely LOVE it! Which is why I am re-reading yet another spin-off novel "Duty and Desire" by Pamela Aiden.

I just finished His Dark Materials trilogy, which I absolutely loved, I cried so much at the end smile.gif I'm now going to start on The inheritance Cycle, with Eragon, I saw the movie once, and I so want to read it!! When I finish these, I really going to start rereading Harry Potter again, I'm ashamed of my poor results in the quizzes.. tongue.gif

MysteryLoverAnne, I saw your post about P&P from Darcy's point of view, I haven't seen those before but they're now on my buying list (*sigh* so many books, only one pair of eyes). I did read a couple of P&P sequels, one was really good and one really bad, now I can't remember which (out of quite a few sequels) was the good one lol, I need to dig that out. *thinks it might have been Pemberley*

I'm currently reading Second Chance by Jane Green who wrote Life Swap, loosely (very loosely!) adapted as the movie The Holiday, anyone who thinks there were too many changes and omissions in the HP films should read that book and film, it was barely recognisable. So far its extremely sad, not the fun read I was expecting, but still quite a good read, she has a very simple, easy-going style which is perfect inbetween a couple of more demanding books.

I'm still reading Sense and Sensibility, and I've started a book called Nickel and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich, an investigative journalist who went 'undercover' to see if a person could actually live on a minimum wage job.

Speaker for the dead Scott Orsons second book in his Ender series. I'm only a little way in & it doesn't seem to be gripping me like Enders game did, but there's still loads of time for that. Probably next up for me will be Raymond Fiests latest addition to his midkemia Magician saga - I belive this is book 24 with no sight of the end being near cool.gif Some of the characters are the great-great-great-grandchildren of the original characters tongue.gif

I just finished Buckingham Palace Gardens by Anne Perry, the mystery series featuring Thomas Ptt. It was a good read, but I figured out who had to be responsible very early on and I was disappointed that Charlotte Pitt didn't play a larger role.
