What happened to the Dursley's after Voldemort's death, immediately after and a few years down the road.

I have been wondering what happened to the Durlsey's after Voldemort's death. When did they learn about Voldemort's death and did they celebrate? How did they treat Harry after that. When did Harry see them next? Do you think Harry kept in contact with them?

We know very little really, only that Harry and Dudley were seeing each other on occasions, probably like X-Mas and other holidays. I was a little disappointed not to know more about what happen to them or were they went in hiding during DH. Since they knew about wizards and the danger of the situation, I supposed they went to live and hide in some wizard home.

I don't really know if Vernon and Petunia kept in touch with Harry, like Dudley did. It would be sad if they didn't, with Harry knowing more about his mother's past now, he probably want to know even more about her, and the only link left to her is Petunia now, it would be sad if he wasn't able to get in touch with her and talk about his mother.

It's quite possible that Vernon lost his job after being in hiding for so long. I'm guessing that he would have had a hard time starting over and finding a job that paid as well as the one he had at Grunnings.

Of course, it's possible Harry could have performed some sort of magic that would have given Vernon a plausible excuse not to have lost his job.

I hoped that they would be insert in DH, just a bot more information then we got. what did they do during hiding. I can imagine veron having a blast with wizards.

After voldy died, the dursleys would be able to go home. I expect they did. Harry would not contact them the first year. But after a while he forgives them and visit them.
I think that the x-mas parties will only be able after dudley got himself a house and lived away from his parents

I expect they continued to send birthday and Christmas greeting/gifts. And that Harry takes his familly over to visit every once in a while. But I doubt they were ever close. Harry probably introduced them to Ginny and invited them to his wedding, Duddley might have actually went and his aunt and uncle probably sent a gift with a note telling him not to get blown up, because they aren't going to raise another Potter brat. After recovering from their close contact with the wizarding world, they will go back to their muggle ways and pretend that they are not related to magical freaks.

I imagine that the Dursleys wouldn't go back to Privet Drive immediately in case the death eaters left traps in case Harry returned. I also think that Harry would return there to collect his stuff, and as I expect Dudley would have been following Harry's progress as best he could with Hestia and Dedalus, I think they would meet up there and have a brief, and somewhat awkward meeting then.

I agree.
Harry might make arrangements to arrive there the same time as Hestia and Dedalus bring the Durleys.
They of course would have heard of Harry defeating Lord Voldemort .
Harry could collect the rest of his stuff and maybe give Dudley one of those magic mirrors like Sirius gave him so Dudley could contact him.
This would give Petunia and Vernon a chance to show Harry some common human decency, and if Vernon get mouthy Harry could use that jinx that makes the tongue stick to the roof of the mouth.

I think that the Dursley's were returned to Privet Drive by aurors after Voldemort's fall. I also think that they had no contact with Harry at all after that. Clearly the opportunity to mend things was in Petunia's hands before she left the house at the beginning of DH but she chose not to. I think that action (or lack thereof) closed-off any path towards reconciliation with Harry.

Why would you believe that??
They were under the protection of the OOTP the Ministry/Aurors office had nothing to do with it.
They left Privet Lane with Hesita and Dedalus to a safe but unknown location.
The only thing we do know is that it was Dedalus' house which we learn from the "Potter Watch" broadcast was burned down by deatheaters.

They were returned to PD by someone, it's irrelevant by whom except that it wasn't Harry. Petunia's chance to reconcile was lost and as far as Harry was concerned they were no longer part of his family. He never liked returning to PD and the only reason he did so the last time was upon DD's request. The Dursleys (at least V & P) would not initiate anything with Harry, and I doubt Dudley would know how to even get a hold of him.
