QUOTE(ginnyrocks @ Apr 19 2008, 05:43 PM) Hagrid's wand is also broken in half (as Harry's was after Goderic's Hollow in DH), But Hagrid still uses the pieces. The umbrella has the same strong affect as any other wand. but when Harry tries to use his broken wand no spell he tried completely worked or wasn't extremely feeble. Did Harry have to enclose his in an umbrella (or somehting like it) to have the same effects?
I think that Hagrid would have had Dumbledore fix his wand. No offense to Hermione, but she's not even close to Dumbledore's level. DD could have done way better repairs than Hermione. Besides, Hagrid might have got Ollivander to make the umbrella for him.

As each and every piece of his home swirled around him and into the sky, his body was covered with cuts and gashes. As the last shard hit him and flew up, he collapsed, wondering how long it would be until he bled to death. Crying, he fell asleep; hoping that when he woke up, the house would be there...

QUOTE(lunalovegood1183 @ Apr 19 2008, 06:19 PM) Olivander doesn't know for sure that Hagrid uses the pieces because in SS/PS he asked Hagrid and he lied.
True,
QUOTE(lunalovegood1183 @ same as above) but possibly Dumbledore made the umbrella for Hagrid
I really do think that Dumbledore would have made the umbrella as a gesture of kindness after wrongfully breaking his wand.
