During the DA meetings, Harry teaches the students how to conjure a Patronus; and we find out what the Patronuses of many of the other characters in the series are. After reading Deathly Hallows, did you think anyone's Patronus changed; and if so, what did it change to and what reasons do you have to support your theory? Of those character's Patronuses we don't find out about during the HP series, what would their Patronus be and why?
You are more than welcome to choose from more than one of the following options above, and you may discuss those characters that I have inadvertantly omitted.
Have fun .

Changing patronus? I voted other because I don't think the Battle of Hogwarts would have changed any of the options' patronuses. If anyone's changed, I would say George Weasley. I think his would either mirror his brother Fred's (if it didn't already), or if they were identical already that he may have found it too painful to produce it after Fred's passing. I picture Fred as a peacock (the "I'm still better looking" line of thinking in him) and George as a platypus (the animal kingdoms' "joke" so to speak"), so maybe George took on a peacock if he wasn't also one already.
What were the patronuses we didn't see? Draco--none Nymphadora-- JKR hinted pretty heavily that it was Lupin-inspired. I would say wolf. Molly--I picture a mother hen. Neville--I picture something large like a bear or perhaps a lion, an animal that is usually quiet or dormant but is "awakened" to its full power. Hannah--her destiny as an Innkeeper makes me think a piglet. Cute, smart, loves food, not afraid of a little dirt under her nails. Dean Thomas--something faithful, friendly, persistent...a beagle maybe? Xeno Lovegood--can imaginary creatures be a patronus? Lupin--At first I want to say wolf, but he was so at odds with his "furry little problem" I wonder if he could have gotten past that to harness the good of the wolf. Maybe he'd settle for being a sheep. Sirius--a dog, duh. Bull Mastiff, humungo type dog. Hagrid--I'm thinking his imperfect wand would have prevented him from casting a corporeal patronus. had his wand never been damaged, I'd say a bull. Cedric--something hardworking, attractive, athletic...a stallion perhaps.
edited for all the extra thought that bubbled up after I hit "post"

QUOTE(SevSnapeSupporter @ May 16 2008, 10:55 PM) QUOTE(Nana Evans @ May 14 2008, 11:01 PM) Changing patronus? I voted other because I don't think the Battle of Hogwarts would have changed any of the options' patronuses. If anyone's changed, I would say George Weasley. I think so too. Except I think that before Fred's death (it still seems unreal to me) the twins probably had identical or extremely similar patronuses (I have no idea what animal) and after, mabe a while after, once George has learns to live w/o him and gets used to being just him, it may change. Perhaps to match Angelina's? I think for Angelina's patronus to match bot the twins' would be like George was marrying Fred's love, or like it makes no difference which one of them she ends up w/, assuming that Georges and her patronuses would match
i definately think that george's patronus would change because he lost his best friend, Fred, you know how hard that must be? and in HBP Lupin says that a patronus can change if someone has received shock or something... i cant remember

I like the suggestion of George's Patronus changing. Him and Fred were inseparable; they knew each other better than anyone else, so Fred's death would have had a particularily profound impact on George.
However, I voted for Harry. I think the reason that his Patronus was a stag in the first place was because of the lack of closure between him and his parents - he would always find strength of heart in the parents he never knew. Now that he's been able to add more to that closure (particularily in the Forest scene), and now that he's found his strength of heart in Ginny and his children, I would expect his Patronus to change accordingly. This brings me to my two Patronus guesses (the first one I forgot to vote for in the poll):
I've always thought that Ginny's was a cat (I remember several instances where Jo describes Ginny's actions as cat-like ), so I think Harry's Patronus would change to a member of the cat family - a lion . Not only would it relate to his wife's Patronus (assuming Ginny's is in fact a cat), but the nature of a lion describes Harry's character very well: leader of the jungle/WW, incredibly brave and wise, and very strong (both at heart and in the physical/magical sense).
My other Patronus guess is Molly's: I don't have a particular animal in mind, but I think it would have to be something related to the weasel family (remember, Hermione's Patronus is an otter, which is a member of the weasel family). Taking after Nana Evans' suggestion (which I thought was quite creative), it would have to be whichever animal in the weasel family is best known for it's motherly nature (for obvious reasons ).

I think Ginny's was a horse, if I remember correctly.
From Wikipedia:
QUOTE Mustelids vary greatly in size and behavior. The least weasel is not much larger than a mouse. The giant otter can weigh up to 76 lb (34 kg). The wolverine can crush bones as thick as the femur of a moose to get at the marrow, and has been seen attempting to drive bears from kills. The sea otter uses rocks to break open shellfish to eat. The marten is largely arboreal, while the badger digs extensive networks of tunnels, called setts. Some mustelids have been domesticated. The ferret and the tayra are kept as pets, or as working animals for hunting or vermin control. Others have been important in the fur trade. The mink is often raised for its fur.
Following your idea, maybe Molly is a badger. Could the Prewetts be Helga Hufflepuff decendents? Possibly, but would a founder's blood descendant sort to a House other than their ancestor?

If Mundungus could make a patronus, it would be something with a dubious reputation like a raccoon (thieving) or vulture (scavenger).
Mad eye--first thing that comes to mind is a rhino--big, thick skinned, rare, perceived as agresive but usually charges in defense because it hears what it thinks is a threat. Or better yet an owl--old, wise, hunter, exceptional hearing and vision, stealth flyer.
