Well for me i would have to go with the PS3 because it has a lot of cool features with it more then the X360. Its built in a computer home base system and you can surf the web, download, and even come on the leaky lounge! biggrin.gif And it turns out really nice on HD tvs (mostly everything does lol). Yes i know the X360 has Halo 3! But on the PS3 you can do a lot more on it. Lets say you have a psp and you wanna play a PS3 Game on it but you don't know how, but with wifi you can get it to your PSP really fast and awesome!!! Yes the xbox 360 has xbox live that is the best online gaming in the world but i say the PS3 is more worth it! biggrin.gif

Here is my opinion...

Xbox-360

Advantages:
  • Great games available
  • Great online community
  • Games (including little arcade classics) can be downloaded using Xbox-LIVE points

Disadvantages:
  • Processing power not as good as PS3's
  • Gets really hot after hour or so of play (with a high requirements game)
  • Gets very loud after an hour of play (with a high requirements game)
  • RROD, Red Ring of Death. X-Box has a serious failure, nearly always happens once your warranty has run out

PS3

Advantages:
  • Great processing power
  • Download some demos and games from Online Store
  • Can Surf the World Wide Web
  • A couple of awesome games that fully harness it's processing 'Oomph'
  • Large HD
  • Blu-ray Player
  • Can download/upload from CD's music and videos

Disadvantages:
  • Price $$$$$$$ BIG disadvantage!
  • Not that many good games
  • Issues with first release put of later buyers
  • PRICE!

And that is all I can think of at the current time.

Use this information wisely... or just read it if you want smile.gif

You forgot the Wii. That's going to come out on top. wink.gif But that is a different beast altogether so I'll ignore it.

So...PS3 or Xbox360? To be honest, I think the Playstation 3 in the long run will win it (we are talking numbers here right?). I don't want it to because I hate Sony with a passion but alas I think it will win. At the moment you do get a better deal with the 360. It's currently the system to own. Great price, great exclusive games (Mass Effect, Bioshock!!!, Halo 3), fantastic online interface though it does come with a price. However, more and more great games are becoming multi-platform so that issue is becoming less relevant. The Playstation 3 has Blu-Ray which is a very strong incentive. One of the reasons the PS2 became so dominant was because it had DVD playback capabilities. It's also going to get Home which if successful is going to be huge (I won't ever use it because it's stupid but people eat that stuff up so eh). There are other things but I really can't be bothered looking them up at the moment.

Oh yeah, the PS3 has an amazing line up this year. Metal Gear Solid 4, Little Big Planet, Resistance 2 and Killzone 2.

I love love love the Xbox 360. To me, no other system compares, because all the games I need are on that system. Some people mentioned Wii, I wouldn't even think bout buying that- because that system was not built for shooting games.

However, my xbox did recently fail lol.gif I'm trying to figure it out right now, I think my cord is bent or something happy.gif

I have tried ps3 one time.
i own a xbox360. And once, I had a Wii, but I sold it tongue.gif

Anyway, I love my xbox360. Yes, it makes really much noise, but I ignore that. And I have no games on ps3 that I really want to play, and since I am not made of money, I can not even think of getting a ps3.

For a home gaming system, Xbox 360 has better games at the moment - I am sure this will change as time progresses. However, for a home entertainment sytem - PS3 wins by a mile in my opinion, simply because of the Blu-Ray player. It is pretty much one of, if not the best Blu-ray player currently on the market, costs only a tiny bit more than current Blu-ray players, and considering it is also a gaming console, it really is a bargain for what it has.

um dude you forgot that the 360 doesn't have Full HD, it only supports 720p, And That the PS3 has free wifi and it also can be used as a linux computer. So over all the PS3 is the better deal, and theres video on demand that lets you buy movies and keep them forever on the PSP or the PS3.
