We've had many terrifying situations faced by characters over the series. If it wasn't a frightening monster (or an interestin' creature), it was a fearsome human being. Not to mention very tense atmostpheres by themselves.
heart.gif Jo has given us a whole lot of variety to choose from. lion.gif

So, tell us :
  • Which one do you think was the most scary for Harry?
  • Which one would be the most scary for you ?

You can vote for more than one option. smile.gif

Which one would be the most scary for you ?

This is such a hard question. I found that when I was scared...spending time with my close friends talking through my feelings helped me out so much throughout the series. I also found that taking nice long showers really made a difference as well.

I think the scariest part was when my good pal Dumbledore had me go back to the Dark Lord. I remember having to go there, but keep in mind that it was all for the greater good.

I find that just being my own nice self paid off as the series went along. I didn't find myself really making any enemies and everyone loved me.

Hugs-
SevSev

Oh please! All this whining about how scary people had it through the years. Fear is a mindset; if you are weak you give in to it. If you are strong like me you ignore the 'scary' situation and get on with the task at hand. Only fools wear their fear on their sleeves for all to see.

The scariest thing I've come across? Yes it was when I realised that, unlike a sensible school like Durmstrang, Hogwarts allows in mudbloods and other assorted riffraff. And we are expected to mingle with them *shudder*

Someone as famous as I am shouldn't need to deal with lesser people. I have connections: Cornelius Fudge, Rufus Scrimgeour and Victor Krum are all close family friends. It's scary that I am unable to use their influence to help in my pursuit of greatness.

For me the scariest thing was the Astronomy Tower. Just realising that Dumbledore, the mainstay of the wizarding world, could die was terrifying. I felt for the whole time between HBP and DH that if DD could die then it was all open. Everyone and everything was up for grabs and that was terrifying.

As for Harry, I'd have to say that his scariest thing was almost certainly the cold blooded walk to his own death cry.gif He had to summon the courage to face that all alone. He says it himself: it required 'a different kind of bravery' to do that. It was a type of fear that he hadn't had to face before and so I feel it was probably the most powerful fear.

The scariest thing is fear itself, but yet not facing fear and running from a challenge or a tough situation is not really in my character. Some people run to people that they feel are "important" to fight their battles for them, but the best way to deal with a scary situation is to deal with it youself...even if it looks like death is the only outcome.

For me the scariest thing was the final battle. My poor Rodolphus could have been hurt! He could have been KILLED!! Think about all those dangerous creatures running around hurting everyone!

You-Know-Who was very irresponsible getting my family involved in that battle - I'll never forgive him!

I agree with Harry's Horntail. While Harry has had to face sooo many terribly scary situations, in most of them he has "just" followed his heart and his brain and gone straight through. But in the Forest, walking towards his own death, choosing it, choosing to not fight, to not defend himself, choosing to go against all his instincts, for the benefit of the world... I think that was the worst. console.gif Also, it was so outdrawn. In almost all other instances, Harry has faced danger and reacted to it immidiately, fighting his way through it. But this sacrifice was different. Between realising what he had to do and actually stand face to face to Voldemort and hear him screach the Killing Curse elapsed over an hour. And that wait must have made it even worse. console.gif

Of all the scary instances in seven HP books, the worst one to read for me was what happened at Bathilda Bagshott's house in Godric's Hollow. From the moment where Nagini crawls out of her, to Hermione and Harry escaping... eek.gif eek.gif

I'll give the same answer to both questions: dementors.

Harry, I could swear that you and Draco are having a personality switch! Is this something witches and wizards are prone to experience on Friday the 13th?
