Harry's most notable trademark is his scar, everyone knows him for it, yet over the years it seems to have disappeared.

In PS when he lifts his hair to show his scar it is really visible, but then in OOTP it's hardly there.
Has anyone else noticed this? Does it annoy any one else as much as it annoys me? Why do you think they may have done this?

og ohmy.gif I hadn't noticed that before, I went to look at a few pics, and like on the front of OotP movie, you can't see it! OMG! surprise.gif

how can they take that away? lac.gif God, in the next film he'll were contact lenses and dye his hair blond... !

I guess the reason is that Dan and HP has gotten so famous they don't need it? or Dan just couldn't be bothered to draw a scar on his face every day...?

What? He doesn't have his scar in OotP? I have never seen that! Shure it's not because the scar is one of the most important things to know in the 1st,so it is much more focus on it? (If anyone understand what I mean.. )

yes I have also notice that the scar seems to fade and move around a lot... in the 3rd movie Poisoner of Azkaban his scar switches... it is usually on the right side of his head (on our left when we watch the movie) and then in one scene it is on the left side... I mean maybe they think in the magical world scars can move or something

Ampairsey,

Regarding the wrong side scar in OotP, several shots of the Defense Against the Dark Arts class are shown reversed as they would be if seen through a mirror. Remember the wardrobe containing the boggart? The door is mirrored. Watch the room entrance and see it change from right to left and back to right with different shots of the scene. I will have to watch the movie again to be sure, but I bet the scar moving is one of the thru the mirror shots.

CORRECTION: That should have been PoA not Ootp.

Huh... that is rather odd and a little unsettling, wouldn't you think that after Voldy came back to power it would be of more importance and so you would need to emphasize it???

Another question that should be asked is
Did harry's scar hurt any during ootp?
Did it trouble him?
Was it mentioned much in the movie?

If it was left out more than other movies there is slight chance they could have made it less noticeable

The scar switches are probably (and hopefully) because of what Phoenix1946 said. As for the scar inconsistencies: I think those are just mistakes made by the makeup department. You can't get it the same every time.

As each and every piece of his home swirled around him and into the sky, his body was covered with cuts and gashes. As the last shard hit him and flew up, he collapsed, wondering how long it would be until he bled to death. Crying, he fell asleep; hoping that when he woke up, the house would be there...
