As Albus i learning as he starts Hogwarts, everyone loves to show their house pride but most importantly, everyone loves to show their Hogwarts Pride... Well okay, maybe not if they're from Durmstrang or Beaubatons lol.gif ) The crafths here with their Hogwarts house theme is to help Albus Severus pick a house as he starts at Hogwarts, or to help him show off his house pride as well as his school through house unity!

Just find a T-shirt and use this tutorial to make a Hogwarts Crest Stencil. In no time, you'll have a Hogwarts T-shirt to wear!

Or bring Hogwarts right into your home with this tutorial that will help you paint your own Wall Mural of Hogwarts Castle!!

Perhaps you wish to knit yourself up a pair of House Unity Gloves using either Circular Needles or DPN's!

Not fond of gloves? Well then, how about a pair of House Unity Hand Warmers instead?

Of course, you can also knit a matching House Unity Scarf to go with those gloves or handwarmers too!

Like to do needlework? We have not One Hogwarts Crest two Hogwarts' Crests, but three Hogwarts' Crests for you to choose from!

For the paper-piecing quilter, there's a Hogwarts' Crest pattern also.

A Hogwarts' Crest Magnet! Just the thing to hold your class schedule to your frig!

I'm sure the other Crafty Witches have some individual house ideas for us that they will post here as well!

And if you have other ideas for House Unity projects or individual House Pride crafts, feel free to post them here and share them with us!

And this is what happens when you let me wear the House of GREEN…

*strides in regally wearing dark green robes with subtle silver star accents*

Hogwarts Pride, indeed. Mudblood lovers… *sneers*

True Slytherins know where their loyalties lie. With the green and silver that denotes the purest of Wizarding families. Generations of PUREBLOODS who know that the only house that matters is SLYTHERIN house. Only Slytherins can pull off the regal look of the house of Salazar Slytherin. We choose only the finest works to grace our symbols with…

Let me show you what we mean…*waves wand*

Naturally, we would first show our appreciation with a Snape Graph Ghan. The professor may be prickly around those foolish Gryffindors, but as a Head of House, he is most generous. Honoring him with such a gift as to be laying on your bed is….ahem…er…let’s move on…

Or perhaps for those late chilly nights when you have to finish that ridiculous essay from “Professor” Hagrid on some stupid beast of his that is surely illegal (*note to self: check with Father on the legality of “Bumbleneck Zwosicks”*), you should have a house elf whip of a set of Slytherin wristwarmers. Please note: if you have the house elf follow this pattern, be sure to instruct the sniveling thing to replace the Gryffin-POOR colors with Slytherin ones.

Another way to show your house pride is to put Slytherin on EVERYTHING you own. For that, Leaky has several choices of making the noble Slytherin crest for wherever you need to put your house pride. Slytherin. Slytherin. Slytherin. Slytherin. Slytherin. Slytherin. Slytherin. Slytherin. From purely elegant to extravagantly detailed…

Now, for days that you are blending in with the muggles, or just feel like lounging about in your pyjamas, there are some stenciling projects. These are easy enough to assign your minions to do for you. Who DOESN’T want a gigantic snake on their chest?

On Quidditch game days, show your Slytherin pride while staying warm with some mittens, some awesome wristwarmers (naturally again, use the PROPER colors for this tutorial, dim-witted Gryffindors are EVERYWHERE), your warm house sweater, and a hat to keep your head warm (just remember to put the Hairstyle Hold charm on before the hat).

Keep the essentials on you with a Slytherin house bag (*rolls eyes again* At least this time, there is at least a Slytherin pattern for the house elf to work with…).

Remember the brave students who had to deal with that Harry Potter kid in their year? Show them some love with a stencil. Or perhaps you have a little crush on a favorite student of the House of Slytherin? Stitch the guy of your dreams! As many times as you want, as many ways as you want. He won’t mind.

Going out to a party? No PURE Slytherin would go without bringing a bottle of their finest elf-made wine. Show your pride, and your guests with a Wine Bottle Cozy. If you dine at the house of a Gryffindor, get the cozy back, and drink most of the wine.

Want to give your wee Slytherin a proper doll to cuddle. Ignore the instruction for making that Potter guy…unless you are making a toy for your hound.

Want to liven up the Common Room? This tutorial is also handy for use as a dart board.

And last but not least, as you sign your autographs, show your pride by writing with a SNAKE pen (especially when around Muggles)…

Be sure to check out the rest of the Harry Potter Crafts section for more tutorials, pictures and ideas that help you properly prove your pride. And don’t let those other houses get in the way of your craftiness.

*straightens hat, turns to leave and trips over own robes*

*marches in wearing her S.P.E.W. shirt and House Elf Hat*

Hrmpf! Little Miss Slytherin marching in here and spouting off at the mouth about mistreating those poor, poor house elves. elf.gif

As if any Hufflepuff worth his or her salt would let that be the last word!

Well, as we all know, the house of Hufflepuff is known for loving everyone just the same, so I guess I‘ll have to forgive her this time.

*glares at above post one last time*

I don’t know what she thinks is so wonderful about those Slytherin boys - they have nothing on our very own Cedric, Cedric, CEDRIC!

*stops for a moment to catch her breath*

Of course, we also have dear Professor Sprout, and you can make a Witch’s Hat like hers with a little yarn and a hook!

Or, since we Hufflepuffs do so love a good book, how about knitting up a quick Double Knit Bookscarf in good ol’ yellow and black?

Oh! I almost forgot - curling up with a good book necessitates a cozy quilt. Whip up a few Hufflepuff Crests and throw in several Hogwarts Sues in Hufflepuff colors and you have yourself the most beautiful quilt the wizarding world has ever seen! read.gif

*smirk*

That’s right, Ms. Slytherin is the best - we have the most famous Hufflepuff in the world on our side - Sue!!!! neer.gif

And now, since I’ve proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that Hufflepuff is clearly superior to those uppity Slytherins, let’s show just how great Hufflepuffs are at the party scene by cranking out a set of Hufflepuff coasters! These patterns are available for cross-stitch and plastic canvas, and are guaranteed to keep the Butterbeer rings off of the tables in the common room! toast2.gif

For some festive party wear for the party, stencil yourself a shirt with Hufflepuff’s Badger or show your loyalty for Hufflepuff’s quidditch team with this “Property of” Quidditch Shirt!

Hufflepuff Pride, people! WOO-HOO!! Huff flag.gif

Oh...I'm Ravenclaw now? Well. We just CAN'T let the Slytherin be alone in representing... Of course, logic says that there should be a fair balance here. And therefore, I will show you the elegant and less TACKY way of wearing your stately pride of the House of Rowena Ravenclaw. We are the smart ones and don't feel the need to prance about like self-important peacocks, but we do take pride in our work.

Perhaps one of our more eccentric members of our house, Luna Lovegood, can share some of her ...er..eclectic style that is none the less befitting of Ravenclaw pride in our work...Luna Lovegood's Crocheted Scarf and Luna Lovegood's Crocheted Thestral Cardigan

For a bit more versatility with your house pride check out the Ravenclaw Crest Stencil or perhaps the Ravenclaw Eagle Stencil. Both are perfectly easy enough for any TRUE Ravenclaw to understand. If you have a spot of bother with it, however, talk a Hufflepuff into doing it for you.

Again, we will take a look at Ms. Lovegood's style for practical, yet outlandish jewelry. Because while the Muggles call them radishes, we Ravenclaws know the true power of the dirigible plums. And because Ravenclaws know there are more than 2 ways to stir a cauldron, check out the options below for more help! Luna's Radish Earrings 1

Luna's Radish Earrings 2

Luna's Radish Earrings 3

Luna's Radish Earrings 4

Want a bit more subtlety? Try your hand at a Ravenclaw Illusion Scarf. Those less ...er...intelligent will not be able to always see what Ravenclaws will know.

If you prefer to make your own stitched crest for your dressing needs, because you find too many errors in the work of the house elves, you can take it upon yourself to try on of these: Ravenclaw Crest 1, Ravenclaw Crest 2, Ravenclaw Crest 3, Ravenclaw Crest 4,
Ravenclaw Crest 5.

Or perhaps when serving guests, let them find the suave way you protect your tables from wet glasses sweating on your hardwood table that belonged to your many great grandfather who helped discover that important spell at that very table with a Ravenclaw Needlework Coaster

Add some flair to the fridge with a Ravenclaw Shield/Magnet!

Or, perhaps finally start that quilt that you can't seem to find anywhere with this Ravenclaw Paper-Pieced Crest.

*checks over list, nods once, and turns on spot to disapparate*

*coughs at sudden smoke circle engulfs her*

*looks around*

Dang, looks like I have to leave the old fashioned way...

*drops book and heads out*

*looks around at mayhem and confusion*

Ladies!!! Fellow Crafty Witches!! What is all this fighting about houses? Did you not see my opening words where I talked about showing little Albus Severus to have pride in Hogwarts as a whole? House Unity?

Besides *raises eyebrow* I said pride in his house and we all know that Gryffindor ROCKS!

*she explains as she tosses the end of one of two versions of a crocheted POA scarf (Scarf one and Scarf 2) around her neck.

Amber, why don't you take Albus and show him how to use this lovely Gryffindor Pride Stencil to make a T-shirt and maybe he can learn to make a Hoodie with this Gryffindor Lion Stencil?

And Super Jenn? It wouldn't take you long at all to help Albus Severus make his own Gryffindor Canopy to have over his bed in the dorms, would it?

And, of course, Albus Severus will need a Weasley Is Our King Pin to show not only his house pride but family loyalty (Go Uncle Ron!) and he can wear that with his handknitted Fred & George Socks!

For those more professional events, there's either a Heraldic Lion Vest or the Heraldic Lion Sweater

The Gryffindor Coaster is perfect for setting that mug of butterbeer on to protect common room furniture.

And while the other houses have 4 or 5 different cross stitch crests, we have six! That's right, six! Gryffindor Crest 1 Gryffindor Crest 2 Gryffindor Crest 3 Gryffindor Crest 4 Gryffindor Crest 5 Gryffindor Crest 6

As well as a Gryffindor Shield/Magnet to hold up those 'better than Ravenclaw' grades!

At the end of the day, what is better than a quilt made from blocks of a Gryffindor Paper Pieced Crest to cover you at night!

Well, a friend gave me some blue Plymouth Encore worsted that she bought to knit a sweater-vest for someone who, it turned out, didn't want one. I'm thinking of using it to knit myself a sweater-vest instead. I've made two Ravenclaw scarves in blue and grey, because it's nearly impossible to find a good bronze yarn! However, I saw a Plymouth Encore Colorspun yarn that combines bronze and grey strands here #7172. Seeing that yarn in the shop made me think of Ravenclaw, so I'm thinking of getting a skein and using it for bands around the neck and bottom of the sweater-vest--a subtle indication of Ravenclaw!

That's the sweater that Aunt Hermione made me last Christmas and she made me some socks to match. Dad says she learned to knit when she was making weird little hats for house elves, well he didn't say they were weird but from the way he described them I think "weird" fits blink.gif

Do you think we can get Aunt Hermione to make me a PoA scarf for when I get to go to Hogwarts? I don't want to be the only kid without a House Scarf. And I don't know why, but Mum never knits. Maybe she got too many famous Weasley jumpers from Grandma?
