Being an big Ravenclaw fan, I wanted to conduct a few Riddles to see if you'd be eligible to join Ravenclaw, let alone enter the common room. Ok, just laying out a few instructions...
1) You must find a riddle and paste it onto the forum.
2) Either wait a few days or a few posts to answer your riddle or post the answer WHITED OUT (make the answer's color be white) onto your post.
3) Try adding a riddle of yours when you answer a previous one.
4) Add as much riddles as you want! Keep the forum going!
Bearing that in mind, here is my first riddle:
What does man love more than life, Fear more than death or mortal strife? What the poor have, the rich require, And what contented men desire? What misers spend, and spendthrifts save, And all men carry to the grave?

"Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure"

I'm curious about the nature of the riddles to be posted: Can they be HP related? or are they just supposed to be general brain teasers as opposed to the typical rhyming riddles? Both? Also, the eagle door knocker asked a question that was open to interpretation so technically there could be a ton of answers, can the riddle we ask here only have one answer?
Thanks

QUOTE(Rraoux @ Jul 30 2008, 07:46 PM) My second riddle:
What is the beginning of eternity, The end of time and space, The beginning of every end And the end of every race?
Going by the answer of the Sphinx riddle in GoF, I'm going to guess "e".
