Discuss here.

I am angry, but can understand the reasoning as the late summer 09 season is fairly thin for large movies and it does make sense for them to shorten the gap for the final movies. Especially considering the Potter brand will be raised to everyone's attention once more this December with the new books publication.

I know few will agree with me but thoughts?

This makes no sense. The movie has already finished filming, why would they push it back?
I am so angry right now..I think I might cry

*Avatar baulid *
There was a clatter as the basilisk fangs cascaded out of Hermione's arms. Running at Ron, she flung them around his neck and kissed him full on the mouth. Ron threw away the fangs and broomstick he was holding and responded with such enthusiasm that lifted Hermione off her feet. Page 625

I don't understand either. The November movies always made more money than the summer ones.

Just a sad, sad, day. I am soo..........disapointed in WB. Speechless!

I don't understand. It basically comes down to the money, doesn't it? The film is all finished and ready for release, so the writer's strike obviously didn't impact it too much.

I know that when it gets to next year, I'll be happy that I don't have as long to wait between HBP and DH1, but right now I am SO annoyed that we have to wait nearly a WHOLE year for HBP.

I am swearing my head off about this. This is just sheer greed. I'm seriously thinking about not going to watch it, when it comes out. I don't want to fund WB greedy bank balance dry.gif

My initial reaction was obv something along the lines of: DHSfuwfgeri censor.gif geghjubvgejf?!

and to tell the truth it still kinda is. I don't get the reasoning behind it, at all. The movie is going to make WB millions upon millions of dollars, regardless of when it is released. I don't get how they're feeling the aftereffects from the writers strike, and if they were wouldn't the money from the movie actually help that? And what about the video game release? Thats scheduled for November, and the Royal showing, didn't they already start selling tickets for that? It was a pointless move thats just going to aggrevate the fan base even more than we already were with the lack of information on the movie. I just really wish they would have released this sooner, because I'm sure I wasn't the only one getting comfortable and just waiting it out now that we at least got a teaser. This is all just frustrating. There has to be some other reason as to why they pushed it back. And it really made me laugh how they tried to give this news a brightside with how its now closer to DH, I'm sorry but that doesn't make me feel any better, I'd rather have my November release date back thank you very much.

I'm annoyed and disappointed! I'm also wondering if WB had this planned for awhile and that's why there weren't any trailers. We've all questioned why there weren't any and it seemed unbelievable that they were taking so long, so this may be the answer. dry.gif

Agreed! It makes no sense; if it's finished and ready to go why delay it? *Growl*

ABSOLUTELY GUTTED!!!!

i am truly devasted, i was sooo excited as it has been a year since DH came out and the fact that HBP was out this year made it a little easier to cope with knowing there will be no more books...

this is such a money making scheme, i wonder what Jo Rowling thinks -of all the people she knows what us HP fans are like and how much we all love having something new to discuss and wait for...

i understand what icianom is saying and yes not too much of a wait for DH that way, but to tell us it is out in November, give us the teaser trailer with trading cards and then push it back is not fair to the people who will be the most dissapointed, the movie-goers who could not be bothered to pick up the book, will i believe not care one way or another.

Also now we will get HBP in July 09, DH P1 in Nov 10 with DH P2 in May 11 and then what happens with DVD releases, just seems like DH will most likely be pushed back too, even though they are saying it won't happen.

pfffft i dunno, v. depressing.

btw, snady i totally agree, give us back our november release date, i reckon petition time??

It is their JOB as the seller to maximize profit.

As a consumer we have nothing and they have everything.

You can wine all you want, but you cant stop Harry Potter fans from watching this movie as there is no competition. They can bend us any which way. They have David Yates. They have Dan, Rupert, and Emma. They have a monopoly on the HP brand. This isn't a democracy. It is business. They have no moral obligation to do anything for us. They would if we had like paid when they first started production, but that is not how the movie industry works. They owe us nothing.

People are acting like they should do what WE want. They don't have to do anything we want. They don't have to make a movie at all.
