Airport travel can be a nightmare and many of us like to indulge in different types of food, either if we're hungry, and even if we're not, just so we can survive the trip and/or pass the time
Traveling can definitely be stressful, so, how many of you out there eat more when traveling as a comfort measure? What do you like to eat when traveling? What are some must haves that you can't travel without? Do you try to eat healthy, take your own food, or rely on airport restaurants? Do any of you avoid airport food because of a bad experience you've had? When traveling to wherever you're going, do you tend to gain weight? Are you more careful as to what you eat? How does travel affect your appetite? -------------------- ![]() |

I"m going to have to go with JKR and her anti-dementor advice this time....the answer is chocolate!
I hate flying with a passion (although I love traveling to new places...go figure...*shrugs*), and it really helps to have other sensory input when I'm in an airplane. And chocolate (make that dark and intense cocoa!) just seems to do the trick. It totally takes my mind off of things. (And, why waste the calories on anything less sublime?) -------------------- *thanks, twiddlethosedials, for the siggy* |

I travel a fair amount and I always try to eat the local food and drink the local drink.
Deep Dish Pizza in Chicago Lobster/Seafood in the Northeast Beer in Germany (and Belgium) Red wine and anything in Paris The local favorite recipe for Chicken and Rice on most Caribbean Islands Sushi and Tempura in Japan Kobe Beef on Port Island (first artificial island in Kobe Japan) the best beef ever!!!!!! River eel in China (as well as some even stranger stuff) But I really try to stay away from airport food its too salty, too fatty, and too expensive. Life is too short to worry about everything you eat indulge just hit the tread mill for a little longer. -------------------- Gringotts Express . . . . Never disapparate without it

This is an interesting and sirius discussion
In my opinion, airport food is in its own category, travel food being something else. I dont like flying. Like someone else said, I love to travel but, I dont like the flying part (I so must learn to apparate). At the airport, I try to find sushi, the vegetable kind with no fish or anything. But, for the actual traveling which I find totally stressful & at the same time uninteresting, I have to go with chocolate, in vast quantities. -------------------- I'm 1 of the 99.99% W.L.Y.J.
