Thank you for constructing such an illuminated essay, Arianhrod.
I am fasinated by the 4 elements and its oh so trippy that I caught just the ending of the fifth element the other night on TV, because when I first saw the film I didnt know about Alchemy.
As a student of the Qabalah, the Tarot and Alchemy, I am familiar with much of what the essay explains to introduce Alchemy. And it is marvelous how you expand on it in such an accessable style, while cross referencing the elemental interplay in canon.
I also am fasinated by the four houses representing elements, especially water(slytherin) and fire (gryffindor).
I better read part 2 now before saying anymore.
