Is there any particular actor or actress that stood out for you?

I personally thought that the actor that played Draco Malfoy did a really good job. I dont really think the dumbledore they got for the third movie is quite as good as the one in previous movies.

Just for fun post which actors or actresses were your favorites!

I liked the dumbledoor in the first movie, but am i right in thinking he passed away? I know he was very well known but i cannot remember the actors name...
Yes Tom Felton does a good job as Draco. I was really surprised how much his looks have changed in the third movie, i was sure that it was a different actor for quite a while.

I like Emma Watson's acting in the first and second movie, but in the third she (or Alfonso, dont know) sort of decided to drop Hermione's bossy, snappy and highly sensitive character a little, also giving her all the best lines. Sometimes they have to give her extra lines im sure, because giving the lines to their original speakers sometimes means having to include a lot more scenes that were originally planned to be cut out. But some lines just seem to be there in order to make her character look better, and in turn downgrades Ron's and Dumbledoor's characters, which annoys me. We dont need certain lines to keep on telling us that Hermione is bossy if she could manage to do it simply by her acting.

Im not sure about Daniel Radcliffe, in the third movie he seems to have played Harry with a lot more aggression than i ever thought of him in the books or how he sounded in Stephen Fry's audio books installment of the Harry Potter series. However I sometimes wonder whether that was intentional, because i could imagine Harry striking as more aggressive on the outside. I think of Harry as mostly modest, and quite often even embarrased about being modest which to me means trying to come across as more aggressive like everyone else than he really is. :/ (Are you confused? I was when i read what i just wrote, but there is a point i was trying to get across with that.) Radcliffe has certain moments where he really reminds of of Harry though, like that scene where he is talking to Lupin about why he didnt let him fight the bogart, i thought he played pretty well.

Rupert Grint is a good Ron i think, im just annoyed that they made him a bit more stupid in the films than he really is, and gave a lot of his lines away to other characters, such as Hermione (Hermio-nee-nee for all krum fans)

Now Alan Rickman has to be one of my favourite actors in the Harry Potter films! Maggy Smith is also good! Uhmm, ill come back with more some other time..

Jason Isaacs.....the perfect actor to play a classy bad guy. The role of Lucius was made for him.

I think Daniel Radcliffe is not very good at acting out Harry's emotional moments or when he is angry and shouting and I'm dreading to see what he'll be like in the OotP, because that's when Harry has alot of outbursts.  Other than that I think he is ok at playing Harry and all the other actors and actresses are really good. My favourite is probably Alan Rickman or Emma Watson (and the old Dumbledore).

Alan Rickman is fantastic as Snape, but then I am 100% biased cause I just love the man! (mind you I love him more in other films when he has his own lovely hair! I like him in Robes though!) I think Emma is fantastic too. Dan and Rupert arent awful but as someone else said Dan doesnt do Harry upset/angry well and Ruperts facial expressions are abit over the top at time!

Yeah, Alan Rickman, Tom Felton and Jason Isaacs are all really good for their parts. I love Emma Watson too. I enjoyed the old Dumbledore a whole lot, the new one, IMO, is not as good.

Here's my top five:

1. Snape (very very well played)
2. Hagrid
3. MacGonagall
4. Lucius Malfoy
5. Dumbledore (Richard Harris, if he'd still be alive, he'd be on number one)

I like the trio, but they're still young and therefore not to be compared to the other cast.
If I'd have to choose one of them, I think Rupert as Ron is doing the best job so far.
His facial expressions are great.

My favorite actors would be as characters would be Alan Rickman as Snape, he portrays Snape perfectly, especially in those Harry/Snape scenes. Robbie Coltrane as Hagrid was also a very good decision and Maggie Smith as McGonagall.

Now for the teens, Tom Felton is so natural at portraying Malfoy that some times I even forget that people say he's a nice guy. Dan Radcliffe is Ok as Harry I don't really have any complaints, I just think he needs to learn to cry because that scene that he yells "He was their friend" and brakes down sobbing was just bad. Emma does a great job as Hermione, and I think she's the one that has progressed the most. I love Rupert, he does a fantastic job as Ron and for some one that had never really acted in a movie before he was fantastic in all three movies. His comical timing is excellent.

Though I must say that I am getting a bit tired of the screenwriter downplaying his part and making Ron out to be a funny little sidekick and overplaying Hermione's part, making her much more confident than Hermione really is.
