I was thinking about the variety of articles and info out there about Jo and her books, and I had a brainstorm for 3 new sections of the QQQ:
1) A page listing commentary: things like Stephen King's and July Blume's articles and selected book reviews
2) A page listing audio files where you can listen to Jo
3) A page listing articles that aren't in English.

What do you think?

*drools all over her keyboard*

Oh Lisa!
How fantastic these would be!?

I am already in total awe and eternally grateful for the work you've gathered and cataloged.
I think these would be wonderful to browse through.
I’ve scrounged around myself, looking for articles about Jo and what other authors, critics, reviewers, had to say about her work.  (Especially Stephen King) It is hard scrounging. biggrin.gif
I’d love to see what you could compile!
Please do it!!

Asa lways, Lisa - fantastic! biggrin.gif

The idea on commentary, but that's going to be some task - where would it end? Lol biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I think that if people see articles that are in English we could send the links to you...? We'd probably need some linguists to verify their content and such...?

??? Did you mean articles that are NOT in english?  :conf:

As for lingvists... with the nationalities here at LL, I think you are likely to be able to verify content in many languages. Don't you think so?  :conf: If you need help to verify any supposedly swedish content, I could take a look at it, for instance. *shrug*

Ummm, sounds like it is unanimous!

Foreign language materials:  Well, I can read Spanish and German, and enough French and Italian to get the gist of things.  I will have to rely on the worldwide fans here to advise on the other languages (what have I gotten myself into! ).  And to clarify, I was mainly thinking of interviews she had done that might have been translated into other languages, either by fans or by the journalist.

Commentary: AW, you are so right!  I want to be very very selective.  Certainly nothing that just repeats things from the news or interviews done by other agencies.  However, there are certain bits of criticism that have been infuential or are especially articulate about the series.  That is the kind of thing I will be looking for.  Even things that are negative if they are widely discussed, like William Safire's essay and Diane Ackerman's diatribe.

The easiest to find will be the audio files; I have already been collecting the commentary....

This is awsome, Lisa!
I'm particularly excited about the collection of literary criticisms...  are these on your page yet?  I can't find them.  Perhaps I am just too impatient... biggrin.gif

If you need help with French (for grammar verification and such), don't hesitate to shout! And if you need a little help with translation (INTO French, not FROM French!!), I'm there also! biggrin.gif

Merci beaucoup, Josee83!

I apologise -- I have gotten distracted by other projects (Potter Parties, a re-design of my library's Kids' pages, and discovering that my great-grandpa's 1800s ranch house still exists -- among others).

Work on these ideas may be slower than I'd like because all my Potter sites will be very high maintenance for the next few months.  It also looks like we will be able to get the quote database (combining Scoop with the QQQ) going sooner than I thought and that will be very time-consuming!

LisaQQQ,

Those ideas are excellent! Once these ideas are incorporated, I'm sure they will be just as wonderful as the other features that are already present in QQQ.
However, I do understand that it will take a great deal of time and work. But at least your fans have something to look forward to!

Keep up the great work!
