The second book in JK Rowling's series, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, is a rich tapestry of different plot threads . . . many of which do not mesh to form their full picture until the final book, Deathly Hallows. There are charmingly evil villains, monsters, ghosts, bumblers and mayhem. With such a fabulous collection of characters and situations, how could the HP FanArtists resist? biggrin.gif

We get our first glimpse of the polar-opposite fathers in the books, Arthur Weasley and Lucius Malfoy. Glockgal shows them in their rumble at Flourish and Blotts --

Here in the FanArt Gallery

This is also our first aquaintence with the tireless and loyal houselves, specifically, Dobby. Here, by Laura Freeman, he visits Harry in the hospital wing, warning him of the horrific and deadly plot that has been set in motion --

In the FanArt Gallery

This is also the first time in the series that the political under-current within the Magical world is seen. Headmaster Albus Dumbledore must bow to the decision of the Hogwarts governing board and step down when the attacks on Muggle-born students continue. FanArtist linnpuzzle shows him with his pet phoenix, Fawkes --

Here in the FanArt Gallery

Finally, we meet the teenage Tom Riddle, who will grow up to be the souless monster, Lord Voldemort. Rotae depicts the handsome youth, with a truly dangerous evil-eye --

So, take a virtual tour of the Chamber of Secrets as seen through the FanArtists' eyes. The TLC FanArt Gallery is a magical place, like Hogwarts, where surprise and wonder lie around every corner. Which FanArt from CoS gets your imagination racing? Feel free to link to your favourites here, or upload to a hosting site such as Photobucket, and post the images themselve--and tell us why they move you.

Well, although the Philosopher's stone fanart thread was really popular, the chamber of secrets' one seems to be quite neglected so I thought I should make the first post and let the fun begin!!!

Some of the most striking FanArt has come from CoS!

I saw this one ages ago and the picture was so memorable. I like the darkness around Ginny's eyes and the light coming from the diary. Very nice!

Found here in our galleries.

I have always adored this one by JamusDu, the detail is so incredible. This was another one I saw that stuck with me. So wonderful!

Found here in our galleries.

CoS has some incredible pieces of art associated with it, and we did not realize until DH just how crucial some of those details were!

Its nice when some fanartists fill in the gaps that neither the films or even the books fill in. Take this picture of Hermione by aesculus for example.

I only came across it after spelling basilisk wrong.

Tom and Ginny
I just love this picture. She draws Riddle so well anyway, and she put his creepy "love" for Ginny keeping him alive in this picture so well. *shudders*

Such a beautiful cover...I would have loved to have this as my cover for Chamber of Secrets

One of the best versions of Ginny lying almost dead in the chamber I have seen. I especially love the writing.

And, lastly (for now), a beatiful drawing of the basilisk and Fawkes (Oh, no! I saw the eyes! *dies* JK)
Dumbledore's pet vs. Voldemort's pet

I like this image where Harry is looking at Fawkes before he bursts into fire.

I love the happy face of Dobby when he's with his sock.

I liked this one too because has very good details.

I am a huge fan of the Quidditch scenes in the series--and the initial one pitting arch-enemy seekers Harry and Draco is a classic of action and character-revelation!

This amazing and vibrant image is by the irrepressible Glockgal. I can feel the woosh of the air and hear the fluttering of tiny siliver wings when I look at this! Well done! clap.gif

Okay, so I have been incredibly bored and I was looking through a bunch of fanart and I found this amazing picture (from the always amazing Mudblood428):

She always draws beautifully, but the way she drew this particular scene is so moving and poignant. I especially love the way that Ginny and Harry are looking at each other, even back then. And the distinctly dead Basilisk in the background is amusing as well. lol.gif
