Changing Profiles to MyLeaky

Hi everyone,

We're so excited that MyLeaky has finally opened up and everyone can pop in and play in it. You can read about MyLeaky here. One cool thing about MyLeaky is that you already have a profile if you are a member here on The Lounge.

Starting either February 7th (Saturday) or on the 8th (Sunday) depending on where you are, we will be moving our profile system to MyLeaky.

What does this mean to you? When you click on your profile it will look like mine on MyLeaky. (except it will be yours, so my picture won't show up!) These profiles are customizable for house colors, and you can add html into your profile so you can add images and links to your blogs. You'll also earn points for your house, so by adding to your profile and writing on the parchment of other members helps add points to your house!

i was wondering about why my login doesnt work for myleaky it works at LL but it says that my username account doesnt exist and that i need to register but obviously my username account does exist since i can log in to LL. i never could log into TLC and i've emailed the email adress in the FAQ but the return email said that they are working on it. so does that mean that i wont be able to log on to LL anymore now that LL is going to be apart of myleaky and i cant log in to myleaky. sad.gif

sorry i dont know if this is the correct spot to post this or not if it isnt could u point me in the right direction?

I think you will still be able to log into the lounge. Only the profiles are being switched to myLeaky. I *think* that I've heard the reason people such as you are having trouble is because you have those characters in your username. Just in case, you might consider dropping Doris or someone a PM? That's what I'd try.

I like the idea of being sorted into house. But is there any way to assure points will be earned fairly? The members of one house could grossly outweigh that of another. I'm just curious how you're planning to work things like that out.

It's a new process for all of us, so we're all on the same learning curve. We also have a few bugs and glitches to work out, but we'll get there. Alex likes to build things from scratch, as opposed to using the pre-made software. It allows us to offer this kind of customization, but we're still working on a few things.

I love that you guys want us to make sure it's fair. We will have people who will be checking on this stuff - and right now we're working on a few things. MyLeaky will be YourLeaky, so we want it to work for you.

(I also don't have enough points, sorry to my Gryffindor buddies)

No, The Lounge stays here. The profiles duplicate themselves so it makes sense to have only one Leaky profile.

Now I have to go look to see if you've friended me!


There are a few peeps who can't log in yet, and Alex is working to find out why. SeVeRuS<3 has been kind enough to let us use his account to help find the bug here and squash it.

Thanks guys for asking and for helping us make this a smooth transition.

I was really hoping our profiles (and subsequently our friends) would be transitioned to MyLeaky. As much as I love spending time here, it would be a bit much to try to keep up with both of them smile.gif

And, yes Doris... Gryffindor doesn't have NEARLY enough points! sad.gif

PS- Doris, any idea if we'll eventually be able to use BB code on MyLeaky like we do here in the LL? (Wasn't sure where to ask that....)

Thanks - I mentioned that to Alex today, but I'll email him and let him know that you guys want it too. I know that having those abilities in owls are something I really want.
