I am sure most readers feel the same way. In Sense and Sensibility did you connect with Marianne or Elinor? With Colonel Brandon or Mrs. Jennings? It's been several years since I read S&S, but I remember identifying heartily with Marianne. In the first quiz, and I find this funny, I was even in Sense and Sensibility. 10 years ago, I feel confident that I would have been only Sensibility. However, in the second quiz, this was my result: Marianne Dashwood: You are spontaneous, impulsive, head-strong, emotional and a romantic idealist. However, these "faults" do not detract from your good heart, compassion for others and loyalty. You are also well-read, confident, and artistically talented. The absence of your character traits in others often surprises and disappoints you and once scorned you are unlikely to forgive. That description is at least partially true of me. I'm not nearly the idealist I was 10 years or so ago, but I still hold on to that romantic side, fully believing that it is real. -------------------- heart, mind, soul avi by {{voldy}}

You keep your emotions well-hidden, sometimes to your own detriment. However, your prudence is a virtue, for you are unlikely to embarrass yourself or others and are considered to be responsible, level-headed and intelligent. Manners and the upholding of social mores are central to your way of thinking and maintaining privacy is of the utmost importance. You are a trustworthy and loyal friend and family member. Practical, sensible and often overshadowed by your sister, you may have to wait a long time, but you'll get your man in the end. I can really agree with that. I do tend to be practical and handle things logically, I'm also trustworthy and loyal to my friends and family but I'm not always good at hiding my emotions, especially when face to face with someone I don't get on well with or when feeling angry with someone. -------------------- *November's book is The Catcher in the Rye* by JD Salinger** "THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE DIED!" roared Black. Professional Diagon Alley Window Shopper Posts: 68 Joined: 8:53pm May 30, 2007 Location: Flourish and Blotts	I read this book a few months ago and while I was reading it, I was constantly struck by how much Elinor and Marianne's relationship and characters mirrored mine with my sister. I think when you can relate so easily (and I think all of us can relate to one or the other of them), it makes it so much more enjoyable. Just Through the Brick Wall Posts: 5 Joined: 7:31pm January 5, 2009	i got Elinor for the first quiz and Col. Brandon for the second. The "life's experiences" for the second one interests me since I definitely don't have much experience with life. I'm quite happy with my results. Although, I have my moments of being incredibly similar to Marianne, I guess I can restrain myself more and so practicality wins over my emotions--or at least I think so.

Mending the Chair at Ollivander's Posts: 2,734 Joined: 6:31pm April 2, 2005 Location: Exploring the Hogwarts library :)	When I read this book for the first time a few weeks ago, I immediately identified with Elinor. Her personality was a lot like mine and I could see myself having a lot of the same reactions as she did. It was no surprise that I got her on the first quiz. On the second quiz, however, I got Marianne. Talk about a complete opposite! I do tend to have an overly romantic look on certain things, all of which seemed to come up in that quiz, and, like her, once someone is rude or insults me, I'm very unlikely to be friends with them again.

I got Elinor on both quizes, though I will admit to just guessing answers to a couple of the questions. I couldn't identify with any of the animals and I didn't know which book to pick, are those real titles? I too can be way too practicl and logical, I don't spend long hours crying though right now that is all I feel like doing and it has been a couple of weeks, but it isn't over a man. We are trying to adopt and hit a set back last month and I am trying to recover from it. I do care how I act in social situations, too much because I can be very shy. I don't feel I am as clever as Elinor in what to say to hide my feelings, but I do identify with her the most. On the first quiz I had all A's and a few B's. I chose piano for the one question over art because I can play it, but I have always wanted to learn how to paint andfeel that you can express yourself with art as well as the piano. Here I am trying to logically explain away the questions, I guess I am more like Elinor than I thought. -------------------- "Promise me you'll look after yourself...Stay out of trouble..."
