Having seen Order (I haven't seen the Goblet film), I think that Moody looks rubbish. Hardly horrifically scarred, is he? And what is with the eye? Surely they can CGI a replacement eye, instead of that stupid strap? Nothing against the actor, but I thought he just looked wrong.

The most important character to look right, to me, is Voldemort, and I like the depiction.

Sorry if theres already a thread on this, but I had a look and couldn't find one.

Yeah, Moody did look weird.
Kingsley looked the worst though.
He's supposed to sound soothing and calm, but he just sounded mentally retarded.
And he looked like a fish.

I loved Umbridge though! I mean, I hated her -- but loved the actor.
And Bellatrix was great too.
Oh, and Luna!

Yeah, Umbridge didn't really look toadlike, but i'd never really got my head around what that really means- I thought that character was done very well. I think Kingsley is a brilliant character in the books, and the movie struggles to make him quite as good. I liked Bellatrix, as she looked just like I imagined her.

Fred and George Weasley obviously look wrong- they are tall and slim, not short and stocky, but I guess finding ginger twin actors isn't easy.

I loved how they portrayed LV... even if it did deviate from the book a little!
I think with Red eyes he would have looked too demonic, but with those light blue peircing eyes, it makes you realize that he was once a human, and not some dark presence hell bent on killing people....
And it may also play a key in the future films when they go deep into his past as Riddle... maybe, just like HP's eyes, LV's will play importance too.

James and Oliver Phelps are actually brunettes; when they were cast, it was because personality-wise, they were perfect for the roles. I actually don't think that the people who cast them thought they were going to grow to be 6'3". I think other than their height, though, that they look exactly how I imagined the twins.

Moody doesn't look at all like I expected him to, but I think Gleeson's superb acting makes up for it.

The only two characters that I think look exactly like I imagined them in the books are Julie Walters and Maggie Smith as Molly and McGonagall.

I think that Luna Lovegood and Bellatrix Lestrange look perfect for the part. Moody is a little like I would have imagined but he is not perfect. I dont think that Molly was cast all perfectly but that is just because her hair is not red enough. I love the Lord Voldemort though.

The Good Matches (actor to character):

Luna, Voldemort, McGonagall, the trio (still), Gred and Forge (still, even with the height thing) Neville, Hagrid (just needs to be bigger somehow)

The Not-So-Good Matches (from other movies too):

Mr. and Mrs. Weasley (unfortunately. Fine actors and performances, just not what I envisioned myself.) Both Dobby and Krecher (Hello! CG! Surely the producers could have done any look they wanted, and they weren't even close to my thinking). Dumbledore (Still miss Richard Harris, rest in peace). Fluer (not. even. close.)

The Brilliant:

Sirius (Gary Oldman is one of the finest actors of his generation), Grawp (spot on!)

I didn't like what Grawp is looking like (but then again I didn't much care about Grawp to begin with)
Like most of you Moody doesn't look much as I imagine him, he sound like him (thanks to Gleeson) but it's probably hard to make a human look like Moody. I imagine the eyes to be bigger, how about you guys? conf.gif
McGonnagal, Dumbledore (Harris),Luna, Mrs Weasley are just like I picture them.
Hagrid too (just not as tall)
Sirius is good. When I read the books, before anybody was cast in certain parts I saw Alan Rickman playing Sirius and Gary Oldman playing Snape. doh.gif Oh well, I wasn't too far off, they both made it in the movies
For all the kids, I don't take in consideration their height because like Tani Ann said, the producers couldn't know how tall they were going to be when they choose them. But after seeing PS/SS I was happy with how the kids looked like

Good Actors:
-Luna Lovegood. Perfect. Just as I pictured. Just with really light hair instead of dirty blonde (as described in the book)
-Snape (Alan Rickman) J.K.Rowling requested him personally to play the role of Snape. That should say something.
-Hagrid Same thing. J.K.Rowling personally requested him!
Actors that shouldn't be in the Movies:
-Hermione Granger (Emma Waston). Watch her expressions in the 4th movie. Her eyebrows move up and down a lot and everything. She isn't a Hermione. She is too prissy and cares about her looks rather than books or homework. Remember in the 3rd movie, "Is that really what my hair looks like from the back." Funny, not really. Hermione like - no!
Semi-Good Actors:
-The New Dumbledore (Michael Gamblon?) - He isn't a true Dumbledore (unlike Richard Harris) but he is a good actor, despite what everyone says about him.
