To Kill a Mockingbird is the sixth book we have discussed as a Leaky Lounge community, each discussion has been so fun, and we appreciate everyone's participation. This book club is scheduled to go through September 6, at which time we will begin discussion of the first two books in the Narnia series, The Magician's Nephew and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.
This thread is to nominate a book for our October discussion, we will leave it open to suggestions for a couple of weeks, then close it and open a poll to vote on the combined suggestions. Please select a book for nomination from the following list of books recommended by J.K. Rowling... The Little White Horse Elizabeth Goudge recommended here. Skellig David Almond recommended here. I Capture the Castle Dodie Smith recommended here. The Moonstone Wilkie Collins recommended here. Catch 22 Joseph Heller recommended here. Wuthering Heights Emily Bronte recommended here Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Roald Dahl recommended here. Robinson Crusoe Daniel Defoe recommended here. Hamlet William Shakespeare recommended here. Animal Farm George Orwell recommended here. The Catcher in the Rye J.D. Salinger recommended here. Clockwork Philip Pullman recommended here. Ballet Shoes Noel Streatfield recommended here. David Copperfield Charles Dickens recommended here Lord of the Rings Trilogy, referred to here.-We will begin this series after The Chronicles of Narnia series wraps up, sometime next year. This series has not been specifically recommended by J.K. Rowling, but was placed on the list because the Harry Potter books are so often held in comparison to it. Please limit your suggestions to the list above, our goal is to read the J.K. Rowling recommendations before we move on to Lounge member recommendations.
