Can't figure out how this arm should bend? Not sure how the shadows on this face should look? Those dastardly hands giving you problems??

Post your works-in-progress here and get some input from your fellow artists and audience! It never hurts to have a second opinion, and everyone can improve smile.gif!

Note: This thread is only for constructive comments and helpful critique. "AUGH, THAT LOOKS LIKE CRAP" is not a helpful critique. "Awesome pic! I think the left leg looks a little short though" etc. is helpful critique biggrin.gif.

Here's a couple of works-in-progress...

Harry and Dumbledore crossing the lake, from Book 6
(Prismacolor markers on cardstock)

It was such a creepy scene, I just couldn't resist trying to draw it. (And I can't wait to see it in the next movie.)

Most of what you see here is the underpainting. To start, I shade in the entire piece in various shades of blue, green, and grey, working from light to dark. I've started layering on the colors on Harry, Dumbledore, and the boat, although there's still a lot of work left on them. The water will be darkened considerably, and the highlights on the inferius beneath the water will become sharper.

I'll probably end up going on top of the markers with colored pencils as well.

Dobby's clothes are a mixture of what we see him in in GoF and OotP... The hats were knitted by Hermione, the sweater is the shrunk-down one that Ron gave him. The shorts, tie, and pink-and-orange striped sock came from the description of him in GoF.

This one is a bit closer to being done, although I started on it after the other image. It's simpler, though, and requires a lot less detail, so I've been able to get more done.

I'm planning on deepening the shadows more, and adding words/images to the buttons on his hat. Plus, like the other image, I'll undoubtably go over it in pencil to smooth out his skin tone and add texture to his clothing. And do something about his eyes, because they look a bit creepy to me.

Any other suggestions or advice are warmly welcomed.
