© Kaae Supplies 50 g (210 meters) of Arwetta Filcolana (80% merino wool and 20% nylon) in Bronz/golden 50 g (210 meters) of Arwetta Filcolana (80% merino wool and 20% nylon) in Dark blue 50 g (210 meters) of Arwetta Filcolana (80% merino wool and 20% nylon) in Light blue Set of 4 US/1½ (2.50 mm) DPNs Yarn needle Instructions Leg Rib Co 74 st, divide putting 28 on each of 3 DPNs. K1, p1 in the round for 16 rounds. Knit around, increasing 6 sts on each needle. (92 sts) Right Leg  Start in the upper left corner of the chart. Repeat the pattern changing every round. Look out for the decreases. Left Leg  Start in the upper left corner of the chart. Repeat the pattern changing every round. Look out for the decreases. Leg Decreases Knit 2¼" (6 cm) in pattern, now watch out for your first decrease. Round 1 Knit needle 1 until you reach the middle of the sts. Stop at the 3 light blue sts. K1, k2 light blue together, k1 dark blue, k2 dark blue together. Knit the rest of the round following the pattern. Round 2 Knit in the round following the pattern. Round 3 Knit until 1 dark blue st before your decrease from round 1. Knit the dark blue and light blue st together, do the same with the next, now there should be 1 light and 1 dark blue st. Knit the rest of the round following the pattern. Round 4 Knit in the round following the pattern. Round 5: Knit until 1 dark blue st before the light blue single st. Knit together, do the same to the next sts. Now you have knitted two stripes away. Now knit following the pattern for the next 4" (10.16 cm), so that the striped part of the sock measures 5½" (13.97 cm). Repeat the five decrease rounds. You should now have 24 sts on needle 1. Knit following the pattern until the striped peaces measures 8" (20.32 cm) then do one more decrease on needle 1. You should now have 18 sts on needle 1. Knit following the pattern until the sock measures 12" (30.48 cm). Do your last decrease. There should now be 12 sts left. Move the sts from needle 2 and 3 onto needle 1 so that there are 27 sts on needle 1. Heel Flap The heel flap is knit with the bronze/golden yarn, and is knit over the 27 sts on needle 1. Knit back and forth over needle 1 only. Row 1: (RS)Slip 1 st knit-wise with yarn in back, * K1, slip 1 st purl-wise with yarn in back; rep from * to last st, k1. Row 2: (WS)Slip 1 st purl-wise with yarn in front, purl to end. Repeat Rows 1 & 2 for 26 rows. Heel Turn Work in short-rows to shape the heel as follows: (RS) Slip 1 st knit-wise with yarn in back, k17, ssk, k1, turn. (WS) P 8, p2tog, p1, turn Row 1: Slip 1 st purl-wise with yarn in back, knit to 1 st before gap formed on the previous row, ssk using 1 st from each side of the gap, k1, turn. Row 2: Slip 1 st purl-wise with yarn in front, p to 1 st before gap formed on the previous row, P2tog using 1 st from each side of gap, p 1, turn. Repeat Rows 1 & 2 until all sts are knit. Gussets Pick up sts along the selvedge edge of the heel flap and rejoin for working in the round as follows: (RS) On needle 1 knit the half of the heel sts, then with the same needle pick up 15 sts along the selvedge edge of the heel flap. Knit across needles 2 & 3, then pick up 15 sts along the selvedge edge of the heel flap and knit the remaining heel st with the same needle. Knit one round on all 3 needles. Sharp Gusset Round 1: Knit to last 4 sts on needle 1, k2tog, knit needles 2 & 3. Round 2: K2, ssk, knit remaining stitches on needle 1, knit needles 2 & 3. Repeat these 2 rounds 9 times. Foot Knit using the diagonal stripe pattern until the foot reaches your little toe. Toe This shaping is a Wedge shaping and knit with bronze/golden yarn. *Knit to last 4 sts on needle 1, k2tog, knit needles 2 & 3. K2, ssk, knit remaining stitches on needle 1, knit needles 2 & 3. Knit 3 rounds.** Repeat from * to ** 3 times. *Knit to last 4 sts on needle 1, k2tog, knit needles 2 & 3. K2, ssk, knit remaining stitches on needle 1, knit needles 2 & 3. Knit 2 rounds.** Repeat from * to ** 2 times. Knit to last 4 sts on needle 1, k2tog, knit needles 2 & 3. K2, ssk, knit remaining stitches on needle 1, knit needles 2 & 3. Knit 1 round. *Knit to last 4 sts on needle 1, k2tog, knit needles 2 & 3. K2, ssk, knit remaining stitches on needle 1, knit needles 2 & 3.** Repeat from * to ** until there are 17 sts left. Finishing Break your yarn and thread through each of the 17 sts and pull tightly. Weave in loose ends. Block lightly. Embroidery Using the bronze/golden yarn and the following charts, embroider the socks using cross-stitch.   Repeat for second sock.
