In Jo's interview from today (June 26th) she stated that two MAJOR characters would die in the 7th book. Also, one character was set to die, but she gave him/her a reprieve.
Who do you think will die, and who do you think has gotten the reprieve? Let's discuss this here. We've turned off the post count - so any listing in this thread will not increase your post count, due to the high likelihood of list-type posts. Please discuss any theories you have here! -------------------- ![]() My Avon Breast Cancer Walk Page and Blog! I'm In It to End It! |

I'm positive that Voldemort and Snape will die. I'm hopeful that Remus gets the reprieve, because he's my favorite character. I'm a little disapointed that Jo revealed a specific number of characters that she's going to kill off, even though I expected a good few to die in book 7. It's not like she seriously spoiled something, though I am a wee bit disapointed (not to mention sad, and seriously craving book 7!!).

Lucius. And Snape.
I wouldn't want Voldemort to die, maybe be in pain alot and go into hiding like he did when he first encountered Harry. Maybe leaving him alive will give us more chance of other books coming out after the 7th one in the future. We all know Jo's gonna secretly write them Also, my vote goes to Harry for the reprieve. Just because he deserves it This post has been edited by OhNocturnal: Jun 26 2006, 02:12 PM |

If you listen really carefully to the interview, Jo whispers under her breath "Snape will die"!! Doris doesn't believe me, but it happened - honest guvnor
I voted for Snape and Lord Voldemort because they deserve to die. I always thought Arthur would die, but if that was going to happen, it would have happened in book 6 and so I think he is safe. My beloved Remus is getting the reprieve - Jo wouldn't do that to us - Altogether now............... SNAPE IS A GONER, SNAPE IS A GONER.... |

I'm a pesimist......... Since I read about the prophesy, I always thought Harry is going to defeat LV but will end up giving his life too. I really think that is going to happen. Him and Bella (even if she wasnt in the list...) are going to die.
And I think Jo reprieved Neville.... he is a fighter, so i really think he was about to die but Jo saved him. -------------------- Waiting for LeakyCon 09!!!!!

My interpretation is that two major characters will die. I'm sure a few minor ones, or relations of minor ones, will.
I'm going to vote for Hagrid and Draco, with Snape getting the reprieve. I will not be able to cope with the trio or Ginny getting it. Actually, I could see Harry kicking the bucket, just 'cause he's the hero and that's just how it goes sometimes. I see Hagrid going down in a blaze of glory, and Draco getting killed in some senseless, tragic way. I say Snape for the reprieve because I imaging JKR not being able to write Harry killed Snape when it comes down to the come down. I think she may have intended to, but couldn't do it in the end. More along the lines of she couldn't make Harry a killer. ETA: Ah! I should have voted before opening my big mouth. Draco's not a choice. I picked Fred and George then. She said two, and I think that's significant. Most other pairs are sort of random. Fred and George are a pair, and LV's probably still fired up over the snowballs to the face, and rhyming his name with feces. This post has been edited by coach: Jun 26 2006, 02:25 PM |

Voldemort is gonna die, no doubt about that.
Even though it breaks my heart, i think Snape is likely to be killed off, too. And i think Lupin is the one who was originally planned to die but she changed her mind. -------------------- "I sometimes think we Sort too soon...." |

Oh it's all looking abit bleak is'nt it.
I think Arthur has a strong possiblity of being the Weasley death along with Percy. And I have a feeling about Luna. Of the baddies I would say old Tom's a pretty certain goner, and I think probably Snape as well(I can't really imagine him settling back into his old potions post after all of the recent goings on) Im undecided about Draco. Of the reprieves I think that might be Remus or Neville. -------------------- And now let us step into the night and pursue that flighty temptress adventure...

I'm very suprised to see that Draco Malfoy is not listed among MAJOR characters. I think Voldemort is going to kill him for failing actually.
I consider Draco a major character - not a favorite of mine but major. He certainly did not want to kill DD as he wavered a the end. Draco has been featured in all 6 books so far and i think it likely he will snuff it. Oh - voting, yes, yes...I opted for Voldemort -he has just GOT to go, and *sniff* possibly Hagrid as he will die trying to defend and protect Harry. Oh, I DO hope a reprieve goes to Lupin. We need a Maurauder left alive and Tonks is so young and in love. I read 'elsewhere' that Jo will kill Harry off to prevent unauthorized sequels to the series? That cannot be true can it? Surely she has legal bindings on her series to prevent that. Live HArry! Live!! This post has been edited by Hinkypunkmum: Jun 26 2006, 03:10 PM -------------------- |

Haven't heard the interview yet, I jjust read part of the interview on a news site and popped over here to discuss. Snape was one of my guesses for who would die anyway. I would love to believe that was true (I'd like to see Snape die to help Harry, and Harry have to deal with that...). But I DOUBT that Jo would reveal such crucial and humongous information so far before the book is even complete. Incidentally, I also voted for Percy, with Ron getting the reprieve (and crossing my fingers for all the trio's safety!!) -------------------- Don't put your wand there, boy! What if it ignited?
