Very nice chapter, Severine and Aislinn.
The Death Eaters will be very important in the final book, and I am a little scared as to what they may do to some of our favorite characters. These three characters that you mention scare me the most: QUOTE Members of Lord Voldemort’s inner circle are committed to him for life. Whether through the rabid devotion of Bella, the pure-blood bigotry of Lucius, or the reluctant participation of Wormtail, the Death Eaters will be aiding this darkest wizard in his bid to recreate the reign of terror seen in Voldemort’s first rise to power. How much of an asset they will be remains to be seen. They definitely all have different motives for being committed to Voldemort yet they have all caused a lot of damage to the wizarding world. Their actions have changed the course of many lives forever. They are ultimately doing the work for their "master" but yet they are still the ones who are making the choices to kill or harm others. When Peter says that he didn't have a choice, Sirius responds by saying that he did have a choice - he could have died to save his friends. However, all of these death eaters ultimately make the easy choice to hurt others. Unfortunately, I think it has to get worse before it can get better, and the death eaters are going to play a major role in this final book. -------------------- |

As for the captured DE's I think Voldemort might go to Azkaban to break some out, but leaves Lucius behind to stew as punishment. After filling him in on Draco's forced co-operation.
The DE's in Deathly Hallows could well be used to ambush Harry somewhere along his path, perhaps on his seventeenth at Privat Drive when the protective spell ceases to operate, (I believe Harry will be forced to save the Dursley's by taking them to Grimmauld Place, this offers Dudley a chance to be the one to perform magic later in life). DE's like Bellatrix and Greyback will probably fall victim to poetic justice, eg: Neville capturing Bellatrix and Greyback fighting Lupin, possibly in wolf form). I see more murders and (possible) kidnappings again, prominent witches and wizards of the order or Ministry. I think the Dark Mark will light up the sky numerous times before Harry finishes his Horcrux hunt... |

Can't seem to find how to edit my previous post so I have to post again. Without proper direction as Dumbledore is now gone the 'good' side may struggle against the tide. Voldemort himself may once again enter the Ministry or even take over power in the Muggle world. (After all only Kingsley is protecting the Muggle Minister).
Voldemort seems to have lost a number of his veteran Death Eaters, those we saw at Hogwarts don't exactly look like the best of his forces, so maybe he was massing his real troops to openly attack the Ministry or break down the barriers between Muggle and Wizardkind. |

I am sure that the Death Eaters will play a vital role in DH. Now that Voldemort will finally have the leg room he has so desperatly wanted, I think we can expect to see even more widespread chaos and destruction that we have seen. I somehow feel that the second Voldemort era will be worse than the previous.

One of the fascinating dynamics that we may get to see in DH is the recruiting battle between the DEs and the OotP. You mention it in your essay, that the DEs will continue to recruit. I wonder if both sides will target some of the same people?
I have to believe that Percy will be/is a target of the DEs for recruitment or imperiusing. I think he'd be especially vulnerable if he was influenced by someone he already respects, maybe someone higher up in the Ministry. Will Draco's gang try recruiting a junior DE chapter at Hogwarts? Good essay btw. |
