Do you think you know enough about the environment? Here are some True or False questions to test your knowledge:

1. T or F? Cutting your grass with a gas powered mower creates about the same pollution as a 100 mile car ride? True! Plus you'll get some excercise!

2. T or F? Corn starch can be used to clean windows, polish furniture and shampoo carpets? True!

3. T or F? If you take two flights of stairs everyday at work instead of taking the elevator you save about 50 kilowatts of energy per day? False! No, you save more. 72 kilowatts per day.

4. T of F? Rainforests give us chewing gum, medicine and coffee? True!

5. T or F? Twenty-five percent of the Earth's plants and animals can be found in the rainforests? False! It's 50%!

Try your luck with this HP specific quiz:

1. These are used as an ingredient for Shrinking Solution. Shrivelfigs

2. Aconite is known by two other names. What are they? wolfsbane and monkshood

3. What causes hysteria when you eat it? Alihotsy

4. This made Neville faint in his second year at Hogwarts. Mandrake

5. Stinksap comes out of this when you touch it. Mimbulus Mimbletonia

Six out of ten...although most of my mistakes were on the HP specific ones (I blame it on reading the first 5 HP in Spanish lol.gif )

I didn't know about the corn starch thing, the hysteria causing stuff, and only remembered one of the two other names for Aconitum. A total of 7 out of 10. Not good, but not bad either.

Has anyone tried the corn starch? I'd expect it to be sticky, when you can't remove it completely and it eventually gets wetted. unsure.gif

Have only used it a few times, but if it's diluted enough, it works wonders. darkmark.gif

4. This made Neville faint in his second year at Hogwarts. Mandrake

Hi everyone!
I remember my first year in Herbology well. I have grown so much since then, it's my favorite subject by far! I of course got all the questions right in the last part of the quiz. I'm not so sure about these grass mower mentions, though. Gran said that those Muggle machines are dangerous, so I always stayed away from them.

Good luck to all you guys with the quiz! wizard.gif

i got 6/10, but i counted that i said daisy roots instead of shrivelfig for the shrinking solution, since both are parts of plants and both are used.
