Well, we have 2 weeks and they are almost fully planned!!!!!!
First, we are packing a few things (mostly clothing and bug-repelant!) and visiting my in-laws at their Pourvoirie up north of La Tuque (see Map for more directions!). Well stay there 4 days and leave on the 5th. So we'll be there from a Saturday until the following Wednesday when we'll leave. My parents are coming along too! We're taking the next day (Thursday) to do laundry and some grocery shopping and then on Friday, we leave for a 4 days camping weekend! We'll come back somwhere Tuesday afternoon... More laudray and unpacking... Of course, we'll also need to take care of the house chores! Then we want to take a day to go to the Granby Zoo!!! Our 2½ years-old will be as exhausted as we'll be after those vacations!!!!!!! -------------------- Vote for Acton Vale, Québec here as many time and no matter where you're from! |

Our daughter has a dance competition at Walt Disney World next week, so that'll pretty well take care of any other vacation plans we have.
We'll be spending 7 days in Orlando. -------------------- Thank you so much where_is_my_invisiblity_cloak for creating the avatar.

We are going to our cottage for a week. Its curently being renovated and the kids like to pull the nails and other things out of the walls lol.
Our cottage was built by my grandfather in 1948, and when my mother and uncles started passing away the ones who remained decided to sell it, so my brothers and I decided to pool some money together and buy it 3 years ago. Its not much however we do have a toilet and a shower now whooot. Up until last year we had our baths in the bay. But its a great place, we have waterfront property with a dock and a boat house and the kids love to fish all day.( perch are a dime a dozen there) -------------------- Avator thanks to the wonderful Leaky Galleries

Now that the summer is almost at a close and many of our children are back at school or being homeschooled - I was curious to know how everyone's plans panned out! Did you end up doing what you set out to accomplish? Did your children attend camp? Did you travel? Would you do things the same or would you do them completely different?
My summer was the best one yet. My older son competed in swim team, which I highly recommend for everyone's children. It is competitive but mainly against themselves. His only concern was beating his own times from prior meets and it's amazing exercise. We had tons of family visit. We did a lot of day trips around town and then we took a 2 week trip to NY/NJ. My kids even did great sleeping in different places and only got sad for their toys a few times. When we finally made it home my older son attended a great animation art camp and then before we knew it - it was time to get ready for school to begin. Time really does fly when your having fun! -------------------- ![]() Would you like that swished or flicked? Wonderful image courtesy of Punky |

I went to see Jo in New York this summer. The week before that we were supposed to go to Washington, D.C. and Williamsburg, VA, but my grandfather (who was sick to begin with) slipped into a coma and passed away a few days before. We ended up having to cancel that.
Other than that, I didn't go anywhere. I mainly stayed home and helped my mum set up her classroom! I've been back in school for four weeks now. |

We had a very full 2 weeks! Visited my in-laws at their "pourvoirie" for 4 days, came back for one day, then went camping for 5 days, came back, did some work around the house, went to the Granby Zoo.
If you ever come to Québec, these are 2 places I recommend: La Pourvoirie Rothman and the Granby Zoo, both of which can be found online. Oh, and if you want to see loads of Shooting Stars, around the 12th of August go camping at Le Camping du Mont-Ham-Sud, it's rated as the 3rd best palces in Canada to see shooting stars! -------------------- Vote for Acton Vale, Québec here as many time and no matter where you're from! |
