At first I could view the catergory fine, now I get a page that says

On artwork that has more than three comments, 2 out of 3 times I was not able to read the other comments - clicking on "read more" had no effect. (on Safari 2.0.4)

ETA Ditto on Firefox 1.5.0.9

Also, in Safari the login button only says "logi" instead of "login". And when you login, you have to refresh the page an additional time in order to be able to add a comment.

Val_Halla,

The having to refresh the page in order to add a comment after logging in is a known issue that will be fixed in version 2.0.

The problem with Safari is that it overrides the button design that we put into the galleries and uses it's own design. That is why there is a problem. I have however added it to the list of things to fix.

The viewing more comments problem will also be looked into asap.

Just thought you should know that when changing avatars, the new one doesn't show up (on either the upload page or my profile) unless I logout and back in again. Probably other folks could see the new one, but I couldn't. I was loading the pictures from a URL, using IE 6.
Just a minor glitch!

First let me say thank you for creating this fan art gallery, I LOVE it!

...But today I encountered kinda a large problem. I tried to upload this image, but I think my internet connection went out for a second, and for some reason 2 corrupt copies of the image uploaded, and this is preventing me from the "Manage my Pictures" and "View my Profile" option, I just get a page that says "Application error (Rails)".

Please excuse the "test image- don't click" picture that I uploaded, I thought that would let me view the other pictures that I uploaded, but it unfortunately didn't.

I'm not sure if this problem is just temporary, but because there are two corrupt images in the gallery, and no one(?) is able to view my profile, I would be very greatful it you could sort it all out, as I am able to do almost nothing right now.

P.S. On a similar note, I see that there's a rule about how you must "Upload only your own work", but is is still OK that I'm uploading Mary Grandpre's chapter pictures that *I* colored in, enlarged, and added digital affects, as long as I'm giving her clear and explicit credit?

Thanks for you time and help! biggrin.gif

Hi Magical Me,

Alex our bugs master is checking in Daily to help with any problems.

As for your excellent question the Fan Art Gallery FAQ states:

QUOTE

What do you consider fan art?
Drawings and imagery related to the Harry Potter world that you have had a hand in creating or modifying is considered fan art. Digital work combining different pieces of movie imagery is fan art; a promo picture of Dan Radcliffe uploaded to your account is not. A drawing that copies that photo, but nonetheless came from your own hand, may still be considered fan art. In short, fan art is a visual representation of Harry Potter that you have created.

So yes, your coloured images are fine as long as you give Mary Grand Pre credit as well. wizard.gif

Happy Creating!

Thanks ErinRae for your speedy response! I'm very glad that you're letting me upload them as long as I give credit. Usually I abhor people messing with and sort of media (cropping, shrinking, compressing, etc.), but I was just really bored last summer, and I just thought Mary Grandpre's charcoal drawings were so beautiful, I wanted to enhance them by coloring them in and adding a neat digital effect. It took longer than you think, and again, I'm very glad that you're allowing me to upload them.

Also, good luck with that annoying technical bug! I think if you make it so that if an image is cut off before it can upload 100%, the incomplete file should simply be deleted, the user gets an 'connection error' message, and is kindly asked to upload it again if/when their connection is stable.

Cheers! thumbup.gif

More problems with viewing comments. I was looking at a picture by Mudblood428 called "And So Do I" with 7 comments. When I clicked on "Read More" this is what displayed:

screenshot #1

When I clicked on the TLC wallpaper at the side it improved to look like this:

screenshot #2

If I scrolled down, I was able to see all 7 comments in the proper place. When I scrolled back up, the top of the page looked the way it was supposed to look. I tried it twice and got the same results each time.

I then looked at another picture by Mudblood428 called "Seeker No More" (which has 6 comments). When I clicked "Read More" the DH banner overlapped the comments.

screenshot #3

I was not logged in at the time of these incidents. After logging in I tried both pictures again and when I clicked "Read More" it showed no comments at all, the comment area just collapsed completely.

My browser is Safari 2.0.4
