We have a wonderful thread in our Writer's Forum here that is dedicated to those who write fanfiction, so I'll direct you all over there to discuss what you've written and what you would like to write in the future. This thread is meant to discuss what members think about fan fiction in general. Thanks lirene LL Moderator This post has been edited by lirene: Sep 11 2009, 05:53 PM -------------------- ![]() |

(Draco and Hermione?!?!? Yeah, haha. I don't really like to read fanfics with Draco and Hermione falling in love because that is so out of character for Draco. It feels as though it's not Draco. It's just somebody's own character with the name Draco Malfoy. -------------------- ![]() ![]() "Fight, fight, fight for my master, defender of house-elves!" |

ew. Now if their's one pairing that really scrapes my knuckles it's Hermionie/Draco. I suppose I can see where the Dramionie shippers are coming from. [you know how everyone says if a boy is mean to you, that means he acually likes you?...load of bollocks if you ask me] But I really just cant make that pairing work in my mind...

I use to not like fanfic so much...specially because people seem to make it like a wild orgie or something, have all characters end up with different people and hurt them in their stories....
which I think is really sick... although two weeks ago I found a really good HP fanfic, about the time between the fight at Hogwarts and the epilogue.. it was really nice to read something that isn't abusive to the story.... -------------------- Sirius forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think fanfic is fun, even the AU stuff. For me, it helps keep the characters alive as well exploring things that didn't happen or could've happened, or just weren't written about. It is a way to practice writing. I think it has helped progress my writing ability. Plus, it just gives me more stuff to read. It's fun, light reading to pass time and I do enjoy it. I can enter different situations with these characters I like. If I think something is too odd or I don't want to read my favorite characters in certain situations I don't read the fanfic. I know some fanfic has helped create friendships over the internet.
It's kind of like roleplaying, if you will. We get to take Rowling's characters and roleplay them. I can make Draco repent his evil ways or have his son fall in love with a Weasley. I can bring Death Eaters back or have Harry become a guard at Azkaban despite what Rowling says he does with his life. I've done none of this, but I have the option to do so. If no one else likes it, then whatever. It's for my entertainment, but I do share it with others, because it is not as much fun keeping it to myself. Hi guys, I'm new!
For me fanfic was a great way to keep reading HP when there weren't any books available. It was a bit of fun when I couldn't find books to itch that HP scratch. There was some great fanfic, and some downright creepy stuff (I should not have been reading when I was 13/14). You do have to sift through a lot of squicky fanfic, but there's real treasures out there. I stumbled across a great fanfic writer when I first started reading it, and I was confused why JK had posted her books online! In the end I probably spent more time reading fanfic than reading actual the series. -------------------- A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. I love reading fanfiction because you can read about things that there is very little about in the books e.g. the Marauders at Hogwarts. However, I generally only read about canon ships because most AU ships seem a bit ridiculous to me
