There are quite a few that I like...
Aida is one that I have been listening to the cast recording quite often recently. Rent I absolutely love, as well as Tick, tick... BOOM! That one is brilliant! I wish I could see it... Jesus Christ Superstar (just about all of Judas' songs and Gethsemane) Fiddler on the Roof is wonderful and, of course, Wicked, which will have a special place in my heart for me because I went to see it for my 18th birthday as a surprise. It was great! |

ooo- Musicals rock my socks!
Kiss me Kate - the first (and only) one I've seen on Broadway (Brian Stokes Mitchell - huzzah!) The Producers - oh come on, its hillarious Billy Elliot the Musical - really really good, and it has the maggie thatcher song, and angry tapdance! and I really do like Man of LaMancha -------------------- What sets Potter fans apart from all others HP Alliance We can fight the dark arts in our world!

Les Miserables has to be my favorite musical. (I had to read the book, in French, in high school - not my favorite of all books. I like the musical version much better. Probably also has something to do with the fact that I'm not always going back and forth between my English/French dictionary, though.)
Evita is a close second. My MIL is from Argentina, and she really DOESN'T like the musical. For me, that's almost a reason to like it... -------------------- Thank you so much where_is_my_invisiblity_cloak for creating the avatar.

QUOTE Billy Elliot the Musical - really really good, and it has the maggie thatcher song I've never seen it, but have listened to the cast recording and the Maggie Thatcher song has to be the best! Saw the Billy Elliot boy, Leon Cook I think his name is, on TV the other day doing Electricity and he was absolutely amazing. I would really like to see that one. |

Grease, with bells on
I'm not actually much of a fan of musicals, but Grease makes me so very happy. Interestingly (for anyone who cares, at least Oooh.. almost forgot, I love Guys and Dolls as well -------------------- |

I have to say, I never liked Rent. Sorry, but it seemed a depressing mishmash to me.

Hmm. I would have to say that My Fair Lady, High School Musical, The King and I, Sound of Music, Fiddler on the Roof, cinderella, The Producers, West Side Story, Singing in the Rain, and most definitely in FIRST PLACE!!! is CATS... anyone who has seen this knows what I mean, it is just amazing, I recently saw it at the community theater and was extremely impressed. Well, as you can see from my avatar...
Phantom of the Opera, because the songs are amazing and the plot is good too Les Miserables, because my school did it for a concert once. Actually, that is my all-time favorite musical. The songs are spectacular, and my school has great singers. My mother said that all the moms were crying in A Little Fall of Rain. I have phases - I had a Wicked phase for a couple months, then it was Aida, then Phantom... [Still in Phantom, actually]. But, I always go back to Les Miserables. Cheers, music-lovers! -WronskiFeint -------------------- "How will we get out of this labyrinth of suffering?"

My mother
The Phantom of the Opera: I'm actually going to see this at the Kennedy Center in DC in August. I love the music, it's so pretty and sad at the same time. I can even play some of it on the piano. Grease: My mom's favorite. I even watched the talent competition on TV. Cinderella: I must disagree completely with Bebhinn Niamh, because I love the 1997 version. I remember watching it at 2 o'clock in the morning when I was sick with the chicken pox in kindergarten. I've seen 1965, my mom adored it when she was younger. She was so excited to introduce it to me, only to find out how cheesy it really was (not horrible but incredibly cheesy). I've never seen 1957, but I love Julie Andrews which brings me to... The Sound of Music: Probably my #1 favorite. I never get tired of this movie. My favorite scene is when she dances with the captain on the balcony *sigh*. There are a few others that I've never seen (because I've been too young) that I'd like to. My mom almost took me to Rent (the movie not the play), but it was playing too late, I also want to see Chicago and Wiked eventually too. Oh and of course the Disney musicals (Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, Little Mermaid, etc.) and I am only 14...so I guess I shouldn't be too ashamed to admit that I like High School Musical too! -------------------- ![]() The scar had not pained Harry for nineteen years.
