I have now read so many great theories regarding how the saga of Harry Potter will end, but what to believe? In order to get closer to a viable answer I decided to once again slip into my McGonagall cat costume and stake out J.K. Rowlings trash cans for a few weeks. paw.gif

Among coffee grinds and old tuna cans I was able to secure a batch of highly confidential notes regarding the final part of book 7, which I feel compelled to present to this noble forum for various reasons.

Since these documents will settle numerous issues like Voldemorts demise, who lives and dies, Snapes loyalties and of course the various shipping-issues, I was at a loss as to what thread to put them in. So I took the liberty of making a new one.

I'm not posting the whole book - that would be most unfair to Jo - so we enter the story as Harry is in the midlle of the final battle against the Dark Lord (Warning: Major book 7 spoilers ahead)...

----------------------------------------------- snip -----------------------------------------------

Harry had never experienced anything like this - not even in his worst nightmares.

Side by side with Hermione and Tonks he slowly backed across room after room while Voldemort - a glimmer of manic fury in his red eyes - showered them with a steady stream of deadly curses.

He could hardly believe how fast and powerfull their enemy was. Voldemorts wand moved so swiftly it was only visible as a blur and his spells were like powerfull rivers of concentrated lethal energy. And worst of all, he deflected all of their best attacks with movements that looked almost casually.

One of Hermiones curses missed Voldemort and hit a lamp that promptly dissolved into a greenish acidic puddle with a hissing sound. "The girls arent exactly holding back", Harry mused. Hermione and Tonks were fearsome to behold in their determination and skill, and he felt gratefull to have them on his side.

But still this wasnt going well. No, not well at all. They were three against one, they were giving it all they've got, putting up a fight that would have made Dumbledore and even Mad-Eye Moody proud - yet they were barely holding their own. The fact was, they were losing!

Harry blocked another curse that came with a force like an express train and moved back a few steps from the force of the momentum. He realised that he had started to moved down and dared a quick look over his shoulder. With a shudder of recognition he saw the familiar crumbled stone arc with the black veil in front of it and realized that they had entered the death-room. The eerie room where Sirius had met his fate two years ago.

He was abruptly pulled out of his brief reminiscence by a loud scream from Hermione. He turned just in time to see her grab her hand in pain while her wand went flying across the room.

"STOP!", roared Voldemort and both Harry and Tonks froze with their wands pointing straight at him.

"Seems like we have a situation here Harry", he said with a voice as cold as a polar wind. "You are aware that I can kill this mudblod and still block whatever you two amateurs would dare attemt to hit me with, right?"

Harry said nothing, but hoped that his face didnt betray the horror he felt.

"But being a reasonable lord, I am willing to offer you a trade - one that will appeal to a do-good'er like yourself. Your life for hers."

"It is no use Tom", Harry said. "You cant aparate out and as soon as the Order and Scrimgeour has dealt with your giants and inferi they will all be comming here. There are probably aurors inside the ministry complex already. You have no where to run and your horcruxes are destroyed. Give up and I promise you a fair trial...."

Voldemort laughed, "A fair trial? Give up? Why would I do such a foolish thing? I have ways out of here that you cant even hope to guess. I am Voldemort - the mightiest sorcerer ever to set foot on this earth".

"Thats not entirely....", Harry interrupted, but Voldemort seemed to have had enough talking.

"So what do you choose hero? Do I get to kill the three of you or just... well... you?"

Hermione was apparently frozen, but her eyes flamed with rage. Harry felt fortunate for this because he knew that she would have thrown herself at Voldemort fighting with her bare fists rather than allowing Harry to say what she knew he would,

"I accept..."

"I have your word that you will surrender your wand once the mudblod and the auror has left this room?", Voldemort asked.

"Yes, you do. ". He turned to Tonks, "Get Hermione and leave."

She starred at him completely awestruck, "But Harry this..."

"NOW Tonks! This is not debateable".

Tonks lowered her wand and started edging carefully towards Voldemort

"No need auror ", he sneered and with a flick of his wand made Hermiones imobile body fly through the air and land with a nasty thud right in front of Tonks feet. "Now be so kind as to carry out the trash. Mister Potter and I have important business to discuss."

With a last pleading look at Harry who shook his head Tonks levitated Hermione and moved her carefully out the door. Voldemort pointed his wand at it, sealing it closed behind them.

"Finally alone Harry. What a blessed silence, dont you think? And how fitting that you shall meet your demise by my hand in the very room where Bella took care of your flea-infested godfather..."

Harrys jaw tightened.

"Temper temper Harry. I'll have your wand now please..."

For a second Harry hesitated, but he had given his word. Hermione was safe, Tonks was on the way to alert the Order to what had happened and Voldemort would surely be captured soon.

He felt a sense of accomplishmnent - like he had finally arrived at the end of a long and strenous journey. He had done more in his seventeen year of life than most people get to do in a full lifetime and as an old friend once told him a long time ago - to the prepared mind death is but the next big adventure.

Harry smiled sadly and dropped his wand.

He didnt look at Voldemort, but closed his eyes preparing himself for what he knew was comming. "Mum, dad, Sirius, professor Dumbledore...", he though to himself. "Here I come. I've missed you all very much... "

He heard Voldemorts high pitched cold voice, "AVADA..."

An ear-splitting bang blasted the door a full ten feet across the room and something red and black came racing through. With a chock Harry registered that it was Ginny on his Firebolt, and before anybody had time to utter a word she rammed into Voldemort with tremendous speed. The collision sent them both on hurling through the room ending with them slamming into the wall.

But while Ginny fell limp to the ground, Voldemort descended slowly and landed on his feet. Apparently unhurt, but clearly furious.

"One of those insufferable Weasley brats! For this I shall exterminate the lot of them!"

He grabbed Ginny around her neck with his left hand and lifted her. She was bleeding from the edge of her mouth... "H - harry...", she mumbled in a weak voice. She appeared disoriented and close to fainting.

Harry felt like his heart was in his throath choking him, "Please let her go Tom, its me you want. She means nothing to you. Just a Weasley, like you said."

Voldemort smiled, "Oh? Somethings the matter Harry? I was wondering why this foolish girl would do something this stupid, but suddenly it all makes perfectly sense. This one is important to you, is she not?".

"Just let her go Tom. I'm ready. You've wanted me dead for seventeen years. Its between you and me now. Lets get on with it!"

"Oh, but you will die today Harry. Fear not. But this Weasley was not part of our bargain, so I feel free to use her for a little experiment I've been wanting to try for some time..."

With those words he lifted Ginny over his head and threw her towards the veiled stone arc.

To Harry the next few seconds went by like in slow motion. He watched Ginnys eyes widen with fear as she flew backwards towards the center of the room, her arms flailing desperately in a vain attempt to grab on to something. Harry threw himself forward in a mad race that he knew beforehand that he would never make and he was still at least ten feet away from the arc when to his horror Ginny hit the black veil. For a moment she seemed to slow down, her facial expression turning strangely vacant... then the veil gave way and she disappeared behind it. He though he heard faint whispers and then nothing more, except for Voldemorts high pitched laughter.

"What an ingenous device", he laughed. "Very usefull. When I take over this place, I shall certainly have it moved to my office".

"AVADA KEDAVRA!" someone yelled from the door and a massive green bolt of energy struck Voldemort squarely in the middle of his chest. His red eyes went large with surprise, "This cant be....".

Before he could say more, he collapsed on the spot like a rag-doll. For some reason Harry knew right away that he was dead. Tom Riddle, The Dark Lord, Voldemort, He who must not be named... was no more.

In the doorway Ron was staring at the arc, his wand clenched in his right hand so tightly his knucles was white. "Ginny.... Ginny..." he kept mumbling. He started walking down the steps towards the center of the room like a sleep walker. Harry ran over to him and grabbed his shoulder. "She's gone Ron. There is nothing anybody can do.". Ron didnt seem to register the words, but he stopped and sat down on the stone steps and buried his head in his hands.

Luna and Hermione came through the door next. Hermione ran over to Ron and Harry while Luna walked over and looked curiously at Voldemorts body. She kicked him in the side a few times, "He is very dead", she declared dryly.

Soon the room was filled with people - some examining Voldemorts remains and some asking all sorts of questions, but Harry hardly registered any of it. Ginny was gone... taken away, just like Sirius. That was all he could think of. He vaguely remembered somebody leading him out - Neville he thought or maybe Tonks - but how exactly he got to the Burrow and into bed was a total blank.

The next couple of days went by in a blur as well. Fleur and Gabrielle had taken over the house hold duties for mrs. Weasley who had gotten a mild sedative cooked up by Neville and was put to bed. She kept insisting that she had to take care of the family, but started crying every time she saw a picture of Ginny - and since there were pictures of the kids all over the place, this happened pretty much on a constant basis. Finally Fleur put her foot down and escorted her friendly but firmly to bed and came in to feed her a big spoon of Nevilles potion every four hours. Mr. Weasley took the week off from work, since most of the wizarding world was home partying anyway and spent a lot of time with her too.

Neville had to go to work, but he wasnt looking sad. Down right excited was a more fitting description. "My internship in the department for Misuse of Muggle Objects started last week", he told Harry eagerly. "This is such a great job. I've already helped this lady who had a barking jinx put on her refrigerator. The land lord though she had a dog, so she was almost evicted..."

Hermione stayed at the burrow and she, Harry and Ron hung out all day - mostly sitting somewhere outside talking since nobody really felt like taking part in the post-war partying going on everywhere. Ron was still a bit shaken and had absolutely no idea how he had been able to do a killing curse powerfull enough to dispose of Voldemort.

"My broom couldnt keep up with the firebolt, so I reached the door just as he threw Ginny into that cursed veil, and then I heard the ugly git laughing his head off over it.... and I just felt such.... anger... rage...".

"He deserved it", Hermione said coldly. "That and much more".

"Did you hear that Luna got asked to remain as Arithmancy teacher at Hogwarts after her graduation next year?", she continued. "And I think she is seriously considering it."

"Didnt she want to go on that expedition to study the legendary roaring gnat-beetles of Sumatra or something?", Ron asked.

"Still does. Shes going during summer break, I think..."

Later that day a ministry owl arrived with a letter from Scrimgeour:

Dear Harry.

Since Arthur has been showing the outmost persistence in preventing me from seeking you out in person, I am forced to do this by owl.

I hereby officially extend the gratitude of the Ministry of Magic to you and your two companions mr. Ronald Weasley and miss Hermione Granger and it is my pleasure to inform you that each of you have been awarded The Order of Merlin - first degree - for your services to the wizarding community.

A formal ceremony will be held later this year at a date still to be determined.

Sincerely yours

Minister of Magic
Rufus Scrimgeour

There was one more letter on the owls other leg - it was for Ron. He opened it and froze with his mouth wide open. "What is it Ron?, Hermoine asked. "Why are you acting like you've just seen a crumple-horned snorkack? Let me see that!"

He gave the letter to her:

Not too shabby Weasley. There may yet be hope for you.

SS

"I cant believe it", Ron exclaimed. "I just got praise from Snape! Anybody could get the Order of Merlin, but this? Wow!"

"Enjoy it", Harry said. "Its a once in a life time experience. You'd better get it framed and keep it in your Gringots vault."

"Maybe Snape has been put under the emperius curse by somebody who actually has a sense of humor", Hermione snickered.

At the memorial service for the fallen in the battle against Voldemort Minister Scrimgeour and the newly appointed Chief Auror Severus Snape each gave a short speech and presented a large black stone wall with the names and a small moving picture of each of the fallen. Ronald Weasley was honourably mentioned as the one dealing Voldemort the final blow, though there was no mention of what particular method he had used.

Harry had been asked to join the podium and make a speech, but he politely declined, and Scrimgeour didnt press the issue.

It seemed as if everybody was there - all the Hogwarts teachers, most of the ministry officials and a lot of witches and wizards Harry had never seen before. He recognized several citizens of Hogsmeade as well. Hagrid had brought Grawp who looked almost presentable - as far as that is possible for a two story building in a robe. No other giant was present, since they were currently busy hiding in the mountains after Voldemorts fall from power.

"You know, Dumbledore was right", Luna noted.

Harry looked at her.

"Voldemort was indeed defeated by love.", she went on. " A brothers love for his sister."

Harry nodded absent minded. He had been scouting the skies for a certain bird, but never saw it. Fawkes was not attending .

After the ceremony Harry remained standing in front of the new monument for a while, his eyes fixed on the tiny picture of a smiling Ginny. Next to it was the name Ginevra Molly Weasley in golden letters. His parents were there too, at little further down.

"Voldemort is dead" he though, "but at what price?" He felt dead too...

"Hey Harry", somebody shouted. He saw Bill, Fleur, Luna - nose buried in a book - and Gabriele walking towards him. Bill came up and put a hand on his shoulder, "She sure was special our Ginny".

"Yeah... she was", Harry said.

"You know, when Tonks and Hermione came out of the ministry and told what you had done, she was on the Firebolt and gone before anybody could say a word. Blasting her way trough the building like a missile, shooting down doors and walls in her path. She really cared for you."

"I know Bill, but I'd rather not...."

Gabrielle took Harrys hand, "I liked Genee too Arry. And respected 'er even though we were.... wot is eet called... competitors.."

"Competitors...?", Harry said.

"For a smart an brave 'ero you are a beet... ehh... ", Gabriele paused.

"I believe *slow* is the word you are looking for", Luna remarked without looking up from her book.

"Yes, slow", said Gabrielle and smiled a radiant smile.

For some reason Harry couldnt help smiling back, despite the fact that his jaw felt a bit weird with the unusual strain. He hadnt had much to smile at lately.

"Welcome to the family", Bill grinned. "You may successfully have battled a dragon and the dark lord himself, but once a veela has her eyes on you, you fight in vain. Believe me, I know". He looked happily at Fleur.

Harry stole a last glance at Ginnys picture and he could have sworn that she winked at him. "Nahhh, probably just a trick of the light", he said to himself.

He let Gabrielle pull him over the green lawn towards the portkey leading back to the Burrow. She was chatting in french with Fleur and gigling in between. Harry didnt understand a word, but somehow he felt like blushing.

It was a warm day. The war was over and maybe life was still worth living. For the first time ever he felt free of his plight and the future lay wide open. As a so-called hero of the war he had the pick of practically any career he wanted.

But surely a vacation was in order first. He'd always wanted to see France and he had a vault filled with gold galleons practically begging to be spent, so why not? He'd invite Hermione, all the Weasleys and Gabriele.

Yes, they would have a great time, and it would do them all good. Time is the universal healer after all. It cures everything eventually - even the deepest emotional scar.

----------------------------------------------- snap -------------------------------------------------

That was it.

Sorry mrs. Rowling - I didnt mean to spill the beans, but the truth had to come out. I couldnt just let people go on claiming that Snape is evil. Please dont send lawyers, cause I'm allergic to them wink.gif

And to all you Harry-Hermione, Harry-Cho and Harry-Ginny shippers

haha....good read for sure...however, i'm sure Jo wouldn't end on that note....especially not with Gabrielle...it took me a while to even recognize her, she' such a figure on the border line in the book.
good attempt, though, i wish you had expanded a bit more on the whole LV's death moment thing, because we did wait 7 books for it, and i wish you wouldn't end with Ginny like that, and with Ron having to do the AK spell, because...boy what a disappointment, and based on the prophecy i expected either neville or harry to do it.
and one last thing, i wish Bill and Fleur and Ron and Hermione wouldn't get over Ginny dying so fast.
oh, and did you say, Molly died because of her grief over Ginny's death?
that would be tragic indeed!

Merry: Yes, Pippin, my point is, he's clearly overreacting. Run!

Hi Woof and all readers.

I have created a thread for all budding JKR writers. It is titled :The Last Written Words Of Book Seven Are . . ., Write your own version of the ending of Book Seven for Other to read.

So if you are incline. Have a go. Good work on your version Woof. Very impressive. Please submit your work too. I like all to keep to the one thread. I have not realised that you made the thread when I did. I also submit an version of the ending on :General Predictions From Book Six: Round V and it just feel out of place, so I created this thread for other writers like yourself to write their version of the ending. I believe this thread is going to be popular and good support by others will make one of the mainstays. For starters, I placed my version and to start up the short comments I explained some of my theory as well.

Happy reading!

Arh come on - there are so many of those Weasleys. Surely they cant all be expected to survive? wink.gif

But seriously, consider Harrys losses so far:

He has lost his biological parents.
He has lost a school mate Cedric.
He has lost his de-facto dad/brother Sirius.
He has lost his mentor Dumbledore.

If we stick with the assumption (which seems to have been the case so far) that the story is incorporating a personal emotional journey for Harry, there is still one more thing he needs to lose before he can defeat Voldemort: Love.

And judging from book 6, doesnt this pretty much indicate that Ginnys ticket is punched?

Actually, if you think about it Harry ending up with Gabrielle is perfectly consistent with J.K. Rowlings style. Harry saved Gabrielle in GoF and since then she has had a total crush on him. Everytime we meet Fleur in later books, she has mentioned to Harry how Gabrielle has been talking about him non-stop....

- Why would J.K. Rowling write something like that about a non-important character? Remember that she is famous for masking important clues as small-talk - often long before they come into play - and she never misleads her readers on purpose. This only makes sense, if Gabrielle has a role to play in the final book.

- We all know what happened last time a girl had a total crush on Harry...

- In the movie GoF Harry gets a kiss on the cheek from Gabrielle. It may not be important, but considering how much other stuff they had to cut, this seems like an oddly insignificant thing to leave in. Unless the script writer and the director have gotten a strong hint from J.K. Rowling that this seemingly unimportant character will be important in a future movie

- Gabrielle will be attending the wedding, so she will come to England in book 7.

- Those french girls have that certain je ne sais quoi happy.gif

Combine those with the fact that Ginny is a goner, Cho is beneath him, Hermione is more like a sister (if nothing has happened by now, nothing will happen) and Lunas personality is of a type that is hard to see with Harry.

To me this all adds up to only one possible conclusion. Harry might as well have a huge "PROPERTY OF GABRIELLE" tattoo in his forehead grin.gif

Neither Harry nor Neville seem to be "bad" enough to do it. As Bellatrix told Harry, you truly have to want to kill a person in order for a killing curse to work. It appears to be the wizards hate that fuels the unforgiveable curses. Harry wasnt able to use one - even on the people who had killed Dumbledore right before his eyes a few minutes earlier. Somehow I cant see him doing it - not even to Voldemort....

No, Molly must live. She still has the rest of the Weasley clan plus Harry to take care of, so she would never just roll over and give up. But these notes were just an early draft, so Jo still needs to flesh out some of the characters and tie up a few loose ends. wink.gif

Actually, this just proves to me that she will live-- how could Harry possibly go on with life if Ginny dies? He wouldn't be able to.

First of all, Gabrielle is about 10 or 11 years old...not exactly in JKR's "style" to hook these 2 together. Besides, he didn't need to save her, but he actually did save Ginny's life. Lots of other girls have a total crush on Harry as well. Might as well say that he's destined to be with Romilda Vane, at least they are closer in age.

Yeah, Ron got poisoned and almost died...

I must have seen a different movie, because I remember Gabrielle kissing Ron on the cheek, not Harry.

Well, she is the sister of the bride....wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that she will be there?

Harry is totally and completely in love with Ginny, as his actions prove at the end of HBP. JKR has spent 6 books creating Harry's perfect soulmate. I really doubt an ending where Ginny dies and Harry just shrugs and thinks, "Oh well, it was good while it lasted....next!"

Just like with Ron and Hermione, if for some godawful reason JKR decided to kill Ginny, Harry won't survive it either.

Woof great to read another one of your posts. I hope that it doesnt end like that id be totally gutted. It seems like a lame way for voldey to go id hate for harry to give up his wand and ginny die. I hope he blasts voldeys A*** so far thru that veil it makes his head spin. Ive never wanted harry to kill voldemort till I read your post but now i hope he gets butt kicked in more spectacular fashion than that.

Actually Fleur give Ron the kiss on the cheek in the movie, because she thought that he helped save Gabrielle as well even though Ron was saved himself. Fleur was not where the victims were chained up as she did not reach there in time and so she did not know that Ron was chained up as well. Fleur kissed Harry and Ron on the cheek as a thank you. Gabrielle did not do a thing as I remembered. unsure.gif

I believe that Molly get killed at the Wedding. It is so taboo and not expected, it is perfect that almost everyone will complain. No peace or love in war. (yes I know you will hate me too, but I told you so) Percy will return back to his family after this tragic moment simply because He lost his mother too. Molly will die, die, die. It seems so wrong that it is right to kill her off at the begining of book seven. she may not be useful in the upcoming battle in the field, but her family are real fighters for the cause. She would the last of the Prewetts, joining Gideon and Fabian Prewett her brothers that were killed in the last Vody wars, in the graveyard. It started as a wedding and end as a funeral. The target was Harry but Molly saved Harry with her life and her love.

I also think that Ginny would live. Being the only girl that the Weasley had for generations it seem to tragic for her to go. (or maybe tragic enough that she should go in the story). Ginny has been developed over the last six books as Harry's soulmate. JKR show her development carefully. hug.gif

If there was a girl that dies I would have thought that it was Hermione and then Ron and Harry would have struck him at the same time in your story. The power of three breaks up. Both Ron and Harry loved Hermione as friend and more than a friend in Ron's case. A double dose of their AK would killed anyone. That will stir up the Ron/Hermione fans. Tragic ending to the lovers. But . . . then maybe Hermione looked as she got killed but is alive.

If Hermione dies then Ron will be comforted by Luna. Luna will develop more leader qualities not seen before. Luna makes Ron Happy. Luna is not what she appears to be. She is not dizzly, flakely or scatterbrain. She is Hermoine's heir as well as her opposite. Perhaps that is why Luna was created. To show that there is still life after death. In one sense, JKR did not need to add Luna to the stories for the stories to be effective but she is a barrel of laughs especially for Ron. Luna does seem the same attraction type girl with Ron as Hermione does have the opposite attraction type girl. Two sides of the same coin for Ron.

Well that is how it seems to me. thumbup.gif

Gabrielle did not do a thing as I remembered.

go back to the last scene in the movie when the kids are saying goodbye to each other and harry is walking in the little hallway, looking at them all. Then it shows Ron sitting there thinking and all of a sudden Fleur shows up in front of him, and gives him a kiss, then Gabrielle does the same thing and waves goodbye to him.
having said that, woof i still didn't think much of the kiss scene. knowing Newell, i bet it was another one of his stupid add ins. what can you say, the guy loves to show love even where there is none to be shown.

Merry: I don't know why he's so upset. It's only a couple of carrots.
Pippin: And some cabbages. And then those three bags of potatoes we lifted last week, and, and, the mushrooms, the week before.
Merry: Yes, Pippin, my point is, he's clearly overreacting. Run!
