Happy Birthday to our wonderful Leaky Lounge!

On the 28th our wonderful forum will be three years old. What an incredible three years it has been. This year we've seen the release of the last of the Harry Potter series, though we have "The Scottish Book" still to look forward to, we've watched highlights from the movies and witnessed Jo's incredible generosity and love towards the fans of her novels. Through all of the fun we've been able to sit back with our Leaky family and share our thoughts here on the Lounge.

As the Lounge grows larger and larger, the wonderful family feeling just continues. I'd like to take this wonderful occasion to thank all of our staff for the incredible job they've done over the past year. The Lounge is blessed with the some of the brightest people I've ever encountered and I feel blessed to know everyone! For all of our staff - This is one big Standing O from me to you - you guys deserve it! heart.gif

To everyone who darkens the doors of the Lounge - thanks for being such a vital role in our family unit! This place brings us all joy, and serving as your bar keeps is truly our pleasure! towel.gif Thanks to all our members for this wonderful place!

A VERY special thanks to NickTLC, who wrote an email to a certain webmistress suggesting TLC open a forum. Now, over 70,000 members later - WOW! Thanks for creating this fun place we love so much!

Have a wonderful birthday celebration! From now until the 29th all of the food and the butterbeer is on me! So let's get this party started!

Doris

I just wanted to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEAKY and thank you to all the staff that makes this HP experience possible!!

I started posting on Leaky, because my family and friends were rather tired of hearing my constant inquiries and citations of the HP series. So, again HAPPY BIRTHDAY and many happy returns Leaky!

I read that Jo liked the site and haunted the forums for a while before actually joining; but I'm so glad I did. It's full of people who never tire of talking about Harry Potter, unlike everyone I know. Such interesting topics, fun events, etc., etc. The only time real life was this cool was when I was walking through an outdoor mall the evening of July 20th and saw kindred spirits all over the place. And now, when I feel is the BEST time to discuss Harry- when we know all of his adventures, people here aren't saying- that's over, what are you going to be obsessed with now? Leaky Loungers rock!

The Lounge is awesome, if only because I don't have to bug my family about theories, inconsistancies, etc. I still remember trying to discuss things with my sister, who hasn't read the books, and almost everyone else i know refuses to read them. Then all the sudden a site FILLED with people as obsessed as i am with HP, talking about it 24/7. It's awesome!!! Happy B-day!!

I've been exploring the Lounge a little and am liking it a lot. I think my favourite thread is in the Chair forum - Brit Thread where all the people from Britain gather.

it is my favourite thread too smile.gif
we all love iced gems and umbongo smile.gif
Yay! The Brit thread is the best! woohoo.gif Glad you like it Neville. The Brit thread is great and it was fun meeting up with fellow Brit threaders at the OoTP London premiere last summer and going to the LeakyMug. Here's to the HBP premiere!

Ah, yeah I can't wait to hang out with the Brit threaders at the HBP premiere (and any other LL members too!)

I joined the LL a almost two years ago. I was in my second year at university, and going through a bit of a lonely time, and I started listening to PotterCast and posting on the lounge, and i've never looked back since.
My favourite memory has to be when the live PotterCast was announced in London. Melissa announced it on the LL and there were two or three of us on the thread at the time, just getting SO excited!

Awww, Neville, I knew you had to be a Brit threader!
