All parts with Gilderoy Lockhart just makes me laugh a lot. I voted for "why have you outlined all the lessons with hearts" because the feuds between Ron an Hermione were pretty funny. It seems like such a long time since they fought so much.

And who on earth can forget the Valentine's Day episode. Firstly with Lockhart making a big fuss of it, and suggesting the students ask Professor Snape to whip them up a Love Potion - errr no thanks!! eekout.gif
And then the absolutely brilliant Valentine's Day Card. It is never said for certain (I don't think! ponder.gif ) Ginny sent it too him, but it's definately one pf the funniest Valentines ever lol.gif

His eyes are as green as a fresh pickled toad
His hair is as black as a blackboard
I wish he was mine,
He's really divine
The Hero who conquered the Dark Lord!

Chapter 9, The Writing on the Wall:
"As they entered Lockhart's darkened office there was a flurry of movement across the walls; Harry saw several of the Lockharts in the pictures dodging out of sight, their hair in rollers." biggrin.gif

"The photographs of Lockhart on the walls were nodding in agreement as he talked. One of them had forgotten to remove his hair net."

"Really, Severus," said Professor McGonagall sharply, "I see no reason to stop the boy playing Quidditch. This cat wasn't hit over the head with a broomstick." rolleyes.gif

I've read this before but for some reason it was funnier today. Maybe sitting in a crowded subway car with miserable looking people made it funnier. You know how it is when everyone's really quiet and you feel that hysterical giggle fit trying to claw it's way out of your throat? I'm so glad I didn't snort!

I know exactly what you mean Alysaw ! The more quiet it is, the more stronger the urge to burst out laughing becomes. I have frequently been looked at by people whose faces say [i]'weird'[i] at such times when I lose the battle with it. biggrin.gif

Seamus pretending to vomit inside his cauldron is extremely hilarious. That's something I remember from my schooldays. We used to do quite a lot of that too. And of course, imagining Snape's face on Valentine's day is .... I don't know what to say - totally insane would come close I suppose ! I love the place where Harry backs away from Molly after she gives her sons a piece of mind after their flying car bit too. smile.gif

There are so many funny moments in that book! It's so hard to choose.

My favorite has to be Valentines Day. I laughed so hard when it said that "Snape looked as if someone had just fed him a large beaker of Skele-Gro." And the Duelling Club! Lockhart and Snape are such a wonderful comedy team!

And I loved the Cornish pixies!

That line of Ron's "Of all the trees we could've hit, we had to get one that hits back" always makes me laugh. I think Chamber of Secrets had some of the very best humor of the series. How could it not with Gilderoy Lockhart and Moaning Myrtle both in the same book? They both make me laugh so much. I love Myrtle's line "My life was nothing but misery at this place and now people come along ruining my death." And when Hermione says to her at the Deathday party, "It's nice to see you out of the toilet." lol.gif

I like in the very first chapter when Dudley tells Harry to pass him something at the dinner table and harry response is "whats the magic word?" (meaning please) & the Dursleys freak. That part is funny to me.
Theres other funny parts but Im blanking out right now.
might post more later.

I forgot about that quote. doh.gif It cracks me up every time. tongue.gif
And yes, I know exactly what you're talking about. I get the same way when everything is quiet or too serious, especially if I'm reading a book. smile.gif
