In Harry's universe it seems souls pass into that limbo land Harry finds himself in (in Deathly Hallows) where they make a decision as to whether they'd like to move on or return as ghosts.. Is it possible to return as a ghost if your soul is in pieces? The baron returns even though his murder of Ravenclaw would have torn his soul in two - then again, he seems to have felt real remorse which might have sealed it up again.
I only ask because surely if Voldie is that frightened of death he'd decide NOT to move on? Or maybe he ends up as 7 maimed children? So confuddled... Any ideas as to whether he would have that option? And whether he ends up one maimed child, 7 maimed children or one big voldie when Harry expelliarmuses him? |

My understanding is that the ghosts didn't come back from King's Cross, they never got there in the first place.

QUOTE(Chocolatl @ Aug 3 2007, 07:15 PM) My understanding is that the ghosts didn't come back from King's Cross, they never got there in the first place. I'd agree with that, especially since when Harry is with Dumbledore, he asks where they are, and Dumbledore has Harry figure it out. QUOTE Harry: "Where are we, exactly?" "Well, I was going to ask you that," said Dumbledore, looking around. "Where would you say that we are?" Until Dumbledore had asked, Harry had not known. Now, however, he found that he had an answer ready to give. "It looks," he said slowly, "like King's Cross station. Except a lot cleaner and empty, and there's no trains as far as I can see." "King's Cross Station!" Dumbledore was chuckling immoderately. "Good gracious, really?" "Well, where do you think we are?" asked Harry, a little defensively. "My dear boy, I have no idea. This is, as they say, your party." I think that everyone who dies ends up in a different place, not just King's Cross, and JKR just used King's Cross to show that Harry had a choice to make. -------------------- Flower Girls -

Yeah, but that wasn't exactly what I meant.
I meant that ghosts never get to that particular area, whether King's Cross or somewhere else They never get that far in the first place. They're too scared of death even to allow themselves the possibility of going on. -------------------- There is more to life than dreaming.
