Two things one trivial one more important:

1. When Gilderoy called Snape his "assistant" what was dear Severus thinking? You know as the assistant to Voldemort and an UBER wiz as we found out later...

...would have been worth being capable of Legillimens in that moment.

2. On a more serious note the duel scene (full length not just the G/S effort) shows the problem between "flourish" spells and rapid non-verbal less swish n flick efforts.

Why would wizards EVER have spells that were both LONG to SAY and LONG to PERFORM

Also (and this is a Post Script sorry) what is the relationship verbally between spells:

- Rictumsempra (tickling spell)
- Sectumsempra (lethal body chopping spell)

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?
