What if the house where Lily & James died; where Voldemort became Vapormort and where Harry got his scar; was the same house that Albus grow up in?
My thought is that, after Ariana's funeral, Albus and Aberforth went their separate ways. Both would want to get as far away from Godric's Hollow as possible; seeing as that's the place where they lost both Mother and Sister. So, the house is Godric's Hollow stood empty for over 100 years. Then one day, Albus finds himself, not only Headmaster of Hogwarts but, the leader of the Order of the Pheonix. After a surprising interview with a teacher (for a subject that he was planning of doing away with), he finds himself in a difficult position. The prophecy that he hears could prefer to one of two women working for him in the Order. He also knows that Voldemort (because of Snape, the eavesdropper) will have partial or complete knowledge of the prophecy. What would Albus do under this circumstance? He would call the Potters and the Longbottoms together and lay it all out for them. He then tells them to go into hiding. The Longbottoms would find this prospect easier than the Potters (based on knowledge from the books, the Longbottom family is fairly big: parents, uncles, aunts, cousins). The Potters are relatively alone. Lily is a muggleborn (it is assumed that Lily's parents are already dead at this time), plus her sister, Petunia is magic hater, who is married to another major magic hater. James is an only child, whose parents are also dead. Knowing all this, what would Albus do? Where would he send the Potters so that they and their unborn child would be safe? The idea would probably hit him slowly. But then it would grow and grow on him. It's been over one hundred year since anyone had lived in that house. So why not send them there. The only person still living in Godric's Hollow that knew Albus way back then, is Bathilda Bagshot. She's an old friend of Albus' (Arabella Figg was set up to look out for Harry). So, he would set Bathilda up to look out for the Potters. The empty house in Godric's Hollow would be the perfect place for the Potters to hide out in. Well, that's my little idea. -------------------- ![]() "The Sign of the Deathly Hallows" |
