Hmm... She's not really how i imagined her. I thought of Romilda as a tanner skinnned girl, and has dark, sleek black hair. Does someone by chance know how the books describe her? Anyway, I think she will do a fabulous job, and she's very pretty happy.gif

Book canon, ravenclaw1028? "And one of them, a bold-looking girl with large dark eyes, a prominent chin and long black hair, pushed her way through the door. 'Hi, Harry, I'm Romilda, Romilda Vane,' she said loudly and confidently."

Glad to oblige. (smile)

After seeing what Alecto Carrow looks like (or atleast the actor portaying her) I would have expected her brother Amycus to be a bit chubbier... (harsh, but true)

I think McRory looks a bit old for the role =S ... I thought Narcissa was younger.. I picture Lucius and Cissa as the Brangelina of the wizarding world. Romilda Vane looks how I pictured her! and Lavender looks splendid. Slughorn needs some more chubby to him. AND the moustache.
hooray!! fool.gif

So we now see our first images of some of the new actors in character . . . which will no doubt foster much debate as invariably the filmmakers' vision does not necessarily match the fans' vision of a particular character.

We have Jim Broadbent as Professor Slughorn being perhaps too tall, too thin, and sans mustache --

Here in the Galleries

I really don't mind the film characters deviating from the "canon" description as long as the character is believable and rings true for me. And I will only know that after having seen the film. smile.gif

I agree Hagiographer13 that how the character is portrayed acting wise is much more important to me than the look, but so far they have been spot on with most of the acting and descriptions! I wish that this Slughorn is perhaps a bit to
"too tall, too thin, and sans mustache" but I think that Broadent is an excellent actor and will play a great Sluggy.

I like Jim Broadbent, but he isn't fat enough and he needs a mustache. I thought Slughorn to look more like Prince Charming's dad in tne Disney version of Sleeping Beauty.

I think Jim Broadbent will act the part OK, but I agree that he's not fat enough. Ah, well, as long as he's in the relative area it'll be OK. Since when have they stuck strictly to the book?

With the release of the latest edition of Entertainment Weekly we finally have our first official look at Helen McCrory as Narcissa Black Malfoy --

I think she looks fabulous and am liking the black/blonde hair more every time I look at it. biggrin.gif

You can see the full hi-rez image (with Snape and Bella) here in the Galleries.
