Now that we have gotten even more casting news about the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince film, it's time to take a look at what might be in store!
Back in September Jim Broadbent confirmed he had been cast as Horace Slughorn for the film. Two similar looks that Jim has achieved are very much like Sluggy's canon description: QUOTE(HBP ch. 4) . . . an enormously fat, bald, old man . . . prominent eyes . . . enormous, silver, walruslike mustache . . . The top of his head barely reached Dumbledore's chin.
Check out Broadbent's pictures in the TLC Image Gallery. Now, just this last week Helen McCrory (who had originally been chosen to play Bellatrix LeStrange) is now set to play Bella's non-Deatheater sister, Narcissa Malfoy. QUOTE(GoF ch. 8) [Draco's] mother was blonde, too; tall and slim, she would have been nice-looking if she hadn't been wearing a look that suggested there was a nasty smell under her nose. Not too many images of Helen playing "blonde"--so I personally wouldn't be surprised if they left her dark like Helena Bonham-Carter as Bella, to point up their family relationship and similar appearance.
Helen McCrory in the Galleries. It will be interesting indeed to see how they transform these versatile actors into JK Rowling's characters on-screen. Also, we may have casting and images for Young Tom Riddle and Lavender Brown soon! So--what do you think of the new casting? Will these actors be transformed into YOUR images of the characters as you imagine them? This post has been edited by Hagiographer13: Nov 25 2007, 12:24 PM -------------------- |
