Well, it won't be all that long before we're hearing about casting for HBP. Since Rufus Scrimgeour is barely mentioned in OotP, and the character does not appear to have been cast for that film, we can anticipate he could be cast for HBP. And we all know that Horace slughorn plays a big role.
Who would you like to see portray these two new characters? Which actors will bring the right touch? Some of your Leaky Lounge staff have tossed out ideas, but if there is someone you'd like to see, explain who and be prepared to defend your position! post edited to close poll This post has been edited by MaraudingDon: Oct 8 2006, 08:24 AM -------------------- "That's why he fought. PATRICK STEWART
I'm still laughing from the interview he gave where he said he was the only English actor over 50 who hadn't been asked to be in a Potter Film. Scrimgeour? Otherwise - Rhys-Davies BETTER be Slughorn! -------------------- "

I voted for John Rhys-Davies for Slughorn cause I can just HEAR him saying "Harry M'boy!" in that rough voice of his.
Sean Bean would be great, he has lionish looks and can pull off a tough kind of guy that Scrimjeor is. -------------------- ![]() "We need metaphors of magic and monsters in order to understand the human condition."-Stephen Donaldson "One of the greatest talents in the world is to never say two words when one will do." |

Okay, I can see the Patrick Stewart thing, but I have always pictured Sean Connery as Scrimgeour for some reason, so they better ask him.
I have to agree with hpaddict, on Sluggy.... John Rhys-Davies all the way! -------------------- |

John Rhys-Davies would make a perfect Slughorn. Hehehe...
I think Sean Bean would be a good Scrimegeour, though he isn't how I pictured him. -------------------- "There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness." -Nietzche

I voted for John Rhys-Davies - he LOOKS so cute and loveable but he's a pocket sized warrior ... I bet he'd make a brilliant Slughorn. That character has so much potential - Rhys-Davies could carry that off well.
My vote went to Sean Bean for Scrimgeour - tall, lean, mean-looking when he wants to be, and definitely fits the part. Just my two Knuts. -------------------- Proud Gryffindor

My vote went to Brian Blessed for Slughorn although he doesn't quote fit my image of him I think he'd still be great in the role.
For Scrimgeour I went for Bill Nighy, I think he already has quite a rangy, lion look about him without getting dressed up for the part, I definitely think he'd be ideal. -------------------- Former Chamber 8ian, Room 2 with a Viewer, Game Roomer and Room 18er Fabulous Avatar by mudluv at strixwitchicons and Aislinn |

I voted John Rhys-Davis for Sluggy, & Bill Nighy as Scrimgeour. Brian Blessed is awesome but somehow to me he just doesnt fit the role of Slughorn. I would so love for Patrick Stewart to be in a HP movie. Rhys-Davis was in Star Trek

as for scrimgeour. i picked bil nighy i really like him when he played in Underworld he is a good actor and he already has the lion looking facal looks. i like him a lot. if he is picked he would play in all my favorite movies;)) Pirates of the Caribbean, Underworld, and than Harry Potter. yay i hope they pick him -------------------- "Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light."-Albus Dumbledore

I think Jim Broadbent would make a good Scrimgeour or Brian Cox.
