I know I know, you can only fit so much into a 2-3 hour movie but In the book Jo gives pages upon pages of plot-lines that could have been made cinematically beautiful, what were you most upset/bewildered that they cut?
I would have liked to see a cinematic adaptation of the Gaunt family, with Merope, Marvolo, and Morfin. The descriptions of Morfin just seemed so deliciously perverse, I would have loved to see what they did with it. |

Wouldn't have changed anything really, but if you were to be picky I guess you could chuck in another memory scene...definitely the Gaunts.

Honestly, I'm kind of disappointed in HP6 film. I was left wondering 'wth' after the scene at the Burrow, there was no real climatic scene, the funeral was left out and there was nothing on Merope/Gaunts. A lesser complaint: I was really disappointed that Luna came to Harry's rescue on the train instead of Tonks.

And the Luna/Tonks scene bothered me as well, how hard would it have been to make that Tonks? They weren't avoiding any time extensions by keeping the characters in line for that little scene |

There were very few specific cuts that I was bothered by, but I felt that the filmmakers should have made a stronger effort to show the emotional connection between Harry and Dumbledore. I really wasn't as affected by Dumbledore's death as I wanted to be and I think the reason is that I didn't feel overly sad for Harry. I'm not sure exactly what could have been done to strengthen the bond between them, but I'd suggest that the Scrimgeour stuff should have stayed in the movie. "Dumbledore's man, through and through" is such a powerful line and I really wanted to hear it.

I really missed the order of the phoenix/DA fight at the end...
That was a bit of a let down. Also the horcruxes hunt wasn't compleet, which leaves a big whole in the plot for the next movie.... but what I missed most was the feeling the hunt for horcruxes was important -------------------- Sirius forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really missed the order of the phoenix/DA fight at the end... I thought it was a very odd thing to leave out, especially considering that they added in an attack on the Burrow. My impression was that the Burrow attack was added to give the movie more action, and yet they took out the Order vs. Death Eaters stuff, which was actual canonical action. |

It was not so much a cut but I was disappointed how the Harry/Ginny thing was dealt with. I was looking forward to the detention with Snape & the bit with the kiss where he enters the common room after they have won the quidditch match & Ron gives his approval.
I was also disappointed scrimgeour was not in it (I wanted the dumbledores man through and through line) and I would have liked Hagrid's reaction to Dumbledore's death be in there. |

I was overall disappointed that it felt like many of the scenes were rushed through, as if the director felt "everyone already knows what happens, we'll just give the highlights". In many places, there could have been dialogue from the book, but instead it was oversimplified or missing.
Harry and Ginny deserved a real kiss! Also, the whole Bill/Fleur arc was one of my favourite parts of HBP, and I was sad to not see that at all. |

The Attack on the Burrow could've been removed. Instead of Snape, Malfoy and a ton of wanted people just walking across the grounds, we could've had Tonks and Lupin and Luna and Neville FIGHT! And, speaking of that, did Tonks ever show any love towards Lupin. I think she said "sweetheart" somewhere in there, but...
And, I would've wanted to see a better kiss between Harry and Ginny, and maybe show more Horcrux-crap, but.... Still, all around, best movie yet! -------------------- Aunt Petunia often said that Dudley looked like a baby angel. Harry often said that Dudley looked like a pig in a wig.
Remus Lupin Killed Nymphadora (Tonks) Lupin. It's a theory. Just like I believe that Snape never loved Lily. |
