We're lucky enough in this new book not only to get five amazing tales, but we also get an introduction from Jo and several long commentaries from Albus Dumbledore himself on the stories and histories. In all of this, Jo and Dumbledore throw in never-before-known canon facts, further shedding light on the "real" HP universe in addition to the five tales. Here are some questions to get you thinking:

--> Which new canon fact is the most interesting?
--> Which new canon fact made you laugh?
--> Would any of the new canon have been helpful in your discussions pre-Deathly Hallows?
--> Did any of Jo's backstory about Dumbledore's writing the commentaries pique your interest?

I think the idea of immortality was actually a misunderstanding of what it means to be master of death. Being the true owner of all three objects did indeed make Harry master of death, but that didn't make him immortal. Mastering death is merely a way of accepting death, as apposed to controlling it, as dumbledore says in the train station. Anyway, I think that element of the story is indeed true, it's just misunderstood.

I think this is an excellent point. This is why the Tale of the Three Brothers is the tale that plays such a big role in the HP series - the tale shows what mastering death really means and mirrors and reinforces what is said through the HP series.

I was absolutely intrigued by Dumbledore's last remark in the comments on 'The Fountain of fair Fortune':

QUOTE
This exchange marked the beginning of Mr Malfoy's long campaign to have me removed from my post as Headmaster of Hogwarts, and of mine to have him removed from his position as Lord Voldemort's Favourite Death Eater.

I am now trying to remeber some active anti-Lucius actions by Dumbledore.

I say Dumbledore succeded since Snape became Voldemort's most trusted DE didn't he?
